thanks fellas, couldn't have dreamed up a cooler setup. It is Lake Tahoe, but Brockway, highest house up, end of the road, northernmost point of northshore, but not far removed at all, just two blocks to the Cal/Neva, Crystal Bay Club and Biltmore Casinos. Best feature of the garage is the nearly panoramic view of my favorite place in the world. I posted a photo of the backyard, it is like stonehenge, mesmerizing rock formations. I'm referring to it as the 'casa de craigslist', no ****, I have found nearly ALL remodel materials and they are amazing here there and everywhere on good ole CL. The kitchen counters are being formed from 5 granite slabs that were once the Henry J. Kaiser Yacht Club's BAR at 'Fleur de Lac' - translation, big bucks on the west shore! The fellow in charge of demolition, saved them aside for his own house and after seeing them unmoved for a year and a half, more or less GAVE them to me. They are blowing up the kitchen!!! The redwood siding came from a foreclosed mill in the midwest, reclaimed HARDWOOD, doing batten and board with it soon. Picked up rusted corrugated steel siding which will surround the garage doors as well. I will post photos as it is coming together finally with some sweet materials, stay tuned. Here is the moment I confirmed I can get three cars in, DREAM HOUSE!!! ps. I know this is a garage thread, so I will stay on topic. The garage is gonna clean up nice and remain very stark. I just insulated and sheetrocked the ceiling, gonna finish it off nice Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks Brandon...the portion of the lake just visible to the left, straight up from the rear of the Subie IS Heavenly, this shot was taken in March when there was still snow, you can see the ski runs (gun barrel) right down to near lake level.
With and without cars. It took 3 hours to do. Fun project! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Actually, close!! Three other cars to move around, cover outside, empty the garage, install the floor, put stuff back in the garage, put cars back in the garage, spend 30 minutes drooling, spend a few more minutes taking pictures = 3 hours ;-)
MotoFloor. Obviously I don't have enough experience to tell you good or bad; they look great. Installation is very easy and the tiles are made to dimensions very tight so that the floor comes very straight. Cleaning, other qualities, etc., time will tell.
Just finished up this garage last week in FORGED Cabinets, shown here in Corsa Rosso (Ferrari Red). Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
What do you think of the 'Before' and 'After' of my own personal workshop? It sure looks and feels like a Craftsman style home now. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's awesome! What is and where can I find that metal organizer the ladder is hanging from? I was thinking about doing slatboard in my garage but it seems to be quite a bit more than I'm wanting to spend. That option seems like it would be much more cost effective and I could still have it floor to ceiling.
