Did that Prototype ever get sold ?
Got it. To answer your question, I am not sure. It was publicly advertised for $340k, then shortly after for $185k, and that's the last I heard.
So there has been 2 blue 88.5 in Florida?. The last USA QV was in FL for a while. Was the blue you tube video posted here by someone made in FL ? if so I think we are onto something ...
Blue (Da Ba Dee) is the title of the debut single of the Italian Eurodance band Eiffel 65, from their first album "Europop". The single was released in 1998. I assume it was made in Europe, but all this is off-topic.
Confirmed? When it was advertised at $340k someone asked me what I thought it worth. I said $125k to $150k.
+100 I normally take the high road on this type of SHEIT. However, I've had conversations with both Joe & Roy when I was buying my Countach many years ago. Here's my opinion on both. Joe..... Joe is a stand up guy and is very helpful. He went out of his way to educate me on what to look for. In my humble opinon Joe is more of a historian than a "used car sales man". He has a true passion for these cars. (see how shot my above statement is?) That's the way it should be...... Roy..... This is TRULY MY HUMBLE OPINION..... Roy is truly a cocky "my dic is bigger than yours" type of guy. Not even two mins into the conversation the guy spoke to me like I'm an idiot, minded I'm a car collector. I asked him a couple of questions about the Countach I was looking to buy, he told me it's a POS don't buy that red car you'll be sorry and wanted me to by Ryan's 84' Black & Red which I believe went to Alberto in Italy? I was told by Roy that Ryan had spent a crap load of money to make the car "perfect" and I should go for that car. Alberto was the car perfect? I don't think so... Just fancy pictures that's all. Fast forward shall we? When I told Roy about the car I was about to buy he not only told me it was a POS it has Gotti Rims yadah yadha yadha (minded Roy never inspected the car) he contacted the seller and offered get this $40k on a 6891km car. I just happened to be in the area and bought the car on the spot for much more than Roy offered. Granted the car is not perfect and I wasn't looking for a perfect car as I want something I can drive and enjoy and work on it as I enjoy it. At the time I bought the car for my then 2 year old son. (He's 5 now.) By no means was the car a $40k car I can assure you of this. Basically Roy wanted to lowball the seller buy some OZ rims give it a little detail work "call it perfect while it's in his hands" and turn a $50-60k profit in less than a month. This is what a "used car dealer does". He can give a rat's a$z about the cars no matter what he may lead you to think, it's all about the bottom line. Buy low sell high. THAT'S IT! Not only did I get my car I got a great friend in return. I've been close friends with the previous owner for the last several years. If it wasnt for my car I wouldnt have met a great human being. To Roy thanks for insulting the previous owner of my car if it wans't for those insults I wouldn't have found my best friend. Something to give some though to. He's probably reading this and saying "fugk friends show me the money." with an evil smile on his face. Ever since then I've lost what little respect I had for Roy which wasn't much by the way. Joe do yourself and reputation a favor. Please don't stoop down to Roy's level it's just making you look bad.
Thanks for your candid comments..to be quite frank with you..I dont recall speaking with you..but most likely because I would recall you by your name and dont have the connecton between your real name and the screen name here... If this is the same car you are talking about with the Gotti wheels..I would agree with you that I said dont buy it..and yes at the time I was selling Brians car..that is what I do after all. I highly question that I said it was a POS..I dont normally use that term..and normally would advise a person why I think the car I have is better...then a car I dont have. I think, someone is smoking you with the statement I made an offer of $40K on the car..because that never happened..I dont even recall making contact with the owner of that car...my saying not to buy it was based on it's NON OEM wheels..as I recall..which iseems to be the "biggest" throw down here from all invloved on this thread..if it "Ain't" OEM it Ain't" worth the price...so I think my suggestion of not purchasing a OEM car is in line with most all here...including Joe Sackey. I also am not sure why you would need to contact me or Joe, after all you say your a car collector...so what can we add to your already knowledge of car collecting..or is it American made car collecting and this was your first step into the Lambo area..? What other cars are in your current collection?? Would I buy a NON OEM car at a correct price where I could correct it and make money...HECK yes..why not..I am not a non-profit orginization. I did that with the most recent Blue DD Countach..and it worked, but I didnt get rich on it..made a fair profit that I was happyy with. I am sure in your business (un-less your an employee of someone) are out there to profit from your investments and as we all should. There is nothing wrong with making a fair profit on a car..$60K..that would be a home run and those are very very far and few in-between...but even if it was...whats wrong with making a profit at your choosen field...again as I said I can understand your negative feelings on profit if your just an employee and have no say or sharing in your companys profits..then yes you are 100% correct..since it does not benefit you..it looks out of place and hits a negative cord with non profit sharing individuals. But I think this is called the 1% people lately.. or the make the wealthy pay more then the middle class because they can..but that is a whole diifferent thread and Political thing we dont need toget into here.. I would also agree with you 100% that I am NOT the say historian of the early cars as Joe is..he has done it a lot longer then me and has way more information on seperate and individual cars then I do..but I dis-agree with your statement that I dont give a "Rats Ass" about these cars..just the money made..because see with me, as I dont know you, you dont know me..you dont know what cars I do have that have never been advertised and or not for sale..you dont know what I do enjoy or dont enjoy in the Lambo world or any car brand world for that matter....but pretty easy to figure out..I tend to lean more towards the Diablo Sector then the older versions. I have had them all Miura 400, S, SV, periscopa, S1, S2 S3, Espada, Jarama..you name it..but for me I enjoy the early ones..but as I am a driver..they get to the point that their value takes away from the "care free" operation of them on long trips, in the rain, the snow, dirt..or just plain parking them outside of a Hotel overnight for a stay...so reality sets in and they get sold.. with a 200K or under Diablo..I have no issue doing that..that is my comfort threashold..but start hitting 600K plus...it really is not worth all the questions, negative comments on how I use the car and so on....just gets to the point to trade it off...say I had one, drove it..it was great and onto something else.. But it all appears to have worked out for you..you got a car that is not perfect, per your own words, that you can DIY work, that most collectors and buyers of these priced cars dont or cant..and you made a great new friend..so someone upstairs had a hand in it..maybe your call to me was a way of sending you down the right road.. Enjoy your toy..but more important...enjoy your kids..those are the ones that cant be replaced..and if you still have the car when he turns 18..throw him the keys and smile that you met your goal..it can never be repeated. Roy
Preach the word brother. Oh, and congrats for having the balls to come on here and tell it like it is for you.
See his long drawn message? I got bored reading the first few lines and stopped. First off Mr. loudmouth bunghole. I have several historic Porches. Let's start with a few shall we? 356 Carrara 4 906 Carrera 914-6 GT (the real one) 930 Euro spec 1979 (one of the last 50 built) A couple of older Ferarri Heck I even name my kid Enzo Ferruccio just so you have a clear understanding. 89' Countach 84' Countach And 6 different BMW's from the 2002 race car from the 70's to euro spec ///M5's of the 80's. The most historical Viper ever built. SN 001 on GTS and GTS-R along with the last TWO ACR's ever built. Bough all of them new when offered by the factory. and so on and so on........ By the way "by not having original rims on a car" does not discount the car 30 grand. I got the original rims for 4k and had them refinished and put the correct set of rubber on them and they are sitting in my closet. I personally like MY POS and yes you did call it a POS Roy I have a very vivid recollection of the conversation with the GOTTI rims. I bought the car for my kid to kick around when he turns of driving age. I DID NOT buy it as an investment or for it to be a garage queen as the previous owner did. The car is exactly what I was looking for end of story. I'm so glad I didn't buy Brian's car, and had you make a fairly large profit. After reading some of Albert's post I was correct in buying my Red POS as you call it. Please stop responding to my posts as I'm done reading your crap here. That's exactly what it is Roy CRAP. I'm going to go back to taking the high road after this message. Enough said!
Could you list all of your cars? Sounds like you have a great collection. I know most are not Lambos but we are a broad church on here and we even talk to Porsche owners! lol I have: QV '86 Espada III Auto ( soon to be manual) '78 Khamsin '78 328GTS Fiat X1/9 Lido 1300 '78 Fiat X1/9 1500 '89 fiat Barchetta 2000 VW W8 estate auto Misc everyday small cars All euro spec and RHD, except the Barchetta I would love a 993 C4 manual; M5 V8 and too many others to mention. A friend collects mainly TVR and German cars so play with his a lot.
for all countach fans: please forgive this small off topic post i am an f chat member since 2006 and i am in the "lambo net community" since almost 10 years i have chatted with Joe and Roy many many times by mails and pms, even met Roy in person once ,and i can say first hand both have been helpfull Joe has an amazing knowledge about the miura and countach, Roy is more focused on diablo cars and knows a lot of the US diablos around in the last years i did business with both, more than once and i am happy about it. i also know that is impossible to have only happy customers, expecially if you worck with hundreds of customers i really do not know why this web-war started but i do not see the point in making it last forever on line, nobody will win it.
I would not say confirmed, I just recall seeing it on ebay with sold next to it at $135K. No idea if the deal actually went through. Cheers Jim
Ciao Emilio, don't worry yourself ok? The BS comes with the territory Much more importantly, hows that Bianco Countach doing?
