Hi all, just been out for a run and basically just ended up in traffic, does anyone go out in their cali and regret it?

It was perfectly clean inside the carcoon in the garage, I love the security of my cali tucked away in the warm, i then take it out and dont feel anything. I think sometimes its nicer to look at than sit in traffic.

Is this normal? Or am i a head case?

Headcase maybe. I wouldnt worry so much about it being perfectly clean inside a carcoon and now being dirty (if it's even dirty!).

Im not sure if you didnt enjoy the drive because of the traffic you encountered or because you fear 'using' your california (putting miles, getting it dirty, etc..).

I hope it's not the latter..
I used to get angry when i had my first car and it was super clean and it would get dirty. I realized it was taking the fun away of driving and owning cool cars. Now i dont. The car still drives the same if it's rained on..Of course, i still take care of it (it's also a pleasure) but i dont care anymore if it's dirty for a couple of days.

I feel better now i wrote it down, thx guys.

I get stuck pretty often in traffic in London too...but I drive it enough (every day actually) not to have that all the time!

Just keep it in "sport" and manual and let the revs go up at least towards 5k even in town and you will love it again :)

Taking my daughter to school yesterday morning I drove through some rain that momentarily irritated me because it was spotless but then I realized I can wash it again and COULD have been driving my CL550 (yuk) rather than the California. Then I got happy again!

Buy a poster to look at. Drive it, get it dirty, wash it, repeat. The only way to really appreciate it.

As for me, I like washing and detailing it. It is theraputic. You can't do that unless you get it dirty :)

I think heavy traffic is just a part of central London life

Speed humps and width restrictions and the congestion charge make it tough as well

It's part of living in what I think is the best city in the world

When the traffic gets really bad just think that all the places where no one wants to live are free of heavy traffic for a reason

A dirty F car is a used Fcar. It's made to be driven. Mine gives me goose bumps even when I'm in 10 mph traffic. I only get frustrated bec I want to open it up.

I don't know about you guys, but my car doesn't melt in the rain. I was really nervous the first time I got caught in it!

I always remember how I could walk to work in Burgess Hill faster than my friend in the car.

Drove to the mountains today; probably last week until the white stuff comes. Sorry not to rub it in but the only traffic jam was some Elk on the highway. Buggers were bigger than the car - kind of scary.

I have a new set of SottoZero snow tires coming for my California, the other set rears are gone after three winters of use.

Are you a manual guy? That might be why :D.
My next question is if you really liked the car to begin with. Or did it just 'make sense'? For instance, if you just wanted a Ferrari convertible with seats on the back, the Cali is the only one. BUT it's a different car than most Ferraris. Whatever the case, analyze yourself and try to make a better car purchase next time, even if it's not a Ferrari. And yes, I've done that more than once, so it's not that easy :D. Good luck.

Yep, bought them from someone here on FChat a few years ago. They are the standard wheels and she bought a set of the 19" star wheels. I got them with a good set of rubber too.

Got my interest back, realised the problem, its having the wife next to you telling you to slow down, mind the car in front, its a 30mph limit here ....etc

Went out on my own and loved it!

Then the FF is really not for you, having a passenger display showing speed, revs and gear :)

Actually the passenger display is option, better yet the wife is optional but costs WAY TOO MUCH to terminate the lease! Been there, done that, got two of those T-Shirts.

Going by some of the high profile crashes in Asia, many Ferrari owners prefer to take their girlfriends out for a drive :)

    some even take two girls

i'd sooner risk loss of enjoyment in my Cali (with wife) than loss of life (with non-wife)...
