+1....I think Jensen is more of an alpha dog than Nico. Not Alonso, Vettel, Hamilton level, but right up there.

I have no doubt they do, but don't let them get to you to much ey ;)
I quickly recognised that you don't like newbies that dare to have an opinion. Not to worry :)

I hear you, and I agree to a extent.

However is it Lewis pushing for the brand image, or his management.

IMO Merc need Lewis more than the other way round, that's based on the fact he wants just a WDC contending car, in the here and now, the future yes who knows.

I think both share the blame. Lewis doesn't trust McLaren and McLaren doesn't trust Lewis. Both have several reasons to feel this way (to ignore the issues of "support" by McLaren this year is disingenuous by PitPass), but I think the distrust of McLaren has allowed Lewis to become more demanding that they kiss his rear end...I don't think a team should ever bend past their values to accommodate an individual driver.

I still say that Fuller has his head up his arse also, and LH is taking a big gamble here. While Lewis is more popular than people may think, he will never become a brand like Tiger Woods or David Beckham. You can't separate man from machine in racing. Earnhardt was never THAT big in America, and he is the closest thing to a brand I've seen in racing. Gordon wasn't big despite winning all of those titles in succession. Does anyone even know who Jimmy Johnson is (not the former Dallas Cowboy's coach)?

A driver's legacy will always be measured in WDC's. Unless Lewis is looking to marry Kim Kardashian, he needs to keep his focus on driving (not saying he won't, but I'm suspicious of how Fuller and XIX Entertainment want to use him)

This is the only angle that has any validity to it, imo. If that's how he's looking at it, and he has access to information on engine development that the public doesn't know, then it does make sense.

Fuller is the originator of the "Idol" brand, right? I just don't see how a guy like that will create a crossover star out of a race driver. While you can call "Idol" an innovation, I guess, it's really just a throwback idea to the 1950's and the rise of rock and roll.

How many cars has LH broken this year, I don't know BTW.

I agree he is more aggressive on the car, If Mclaren give him a bomb proof car, he is blistering fast and unstoppable IMO.

JB IMO is the perfect team mate for him as well, I have always said it, when on here it was announced by all and sundrie that Lewis was going to annihilate him, that JB would be there or thereabouts picking up the pieces from where Lewis got it wrong, last year proved that.

I would pick Hamilton over Button purely based on age.

The difference is MS in his twilight years, Lewis is in his prime, and has had a lot of investment pumped into him, it is a risk IMO to let another team to benefit from that.

I think it is safe to say his choice in management has been wrong.

I think one change, management would yield a better LH. Clearly he see's it differently. Any word on why he picked them?

I like everyone Steve until they cross a boundary. What I do not like is a racist tone emplied and it seem's the mod's feel the same way as your previous post was removed! I reported said post, wink wink nudge nudge. If you feel you have a better grasp on F1 than I do I applaude you and I look forward to your input but you have been nothing but disrespectful/overbearing and confrontational so at this point your opinion holds no merit.

I am in no way attacking you personaly or attempting to disrespect you, I am only voiceing my opinion without bias while accepting opinions that agree or disagree with mine.

Life is too short Steve for alot of nonsense.

    All the best.

I'm amazed at how many experts we have here on Lewis Hamilton's psychology, character, personality, motivations and actions.

Or maybe it's just the self-important ramblings of the F1 dotards?

To pull this whole debacle back to reason, all this stuff about "managing his brand" is important. Drivers now often make as much or more from everything outside of their racing as they do from the racing. I remember an article previously that said LH could be F1's first billion dollar earner. It would be a fool who would ignore the lion's share of their revenue potential. That's all it is - not that the man is trying to be a rap star or any of the other utterly ridiculous stuff being attributed to him.

Also, this stuff about how he stiffed the team through his tweets - tempest in a teapot, and a mostly irrelevant situation. He was showing how much the wing had an effect - I don't think he realized the sensitivity of that data, and once he did, he took it down and apologized.

Honestly, F1 fans are no better than the F1 press. Bernie will say something like "we'd love to race later in the season if we can handle cooler weather and locations" in reference to possibly having a European race in the fall.. and the dopey F1 press spins it into "F1 close to inking antarctic F1 race!"... "Bernie says 'FU' to penguins!" and "Bernie obviously has brain cancer, idiocy exposed!". Likewise, Lewis *****es at his team for making what appears to be a mistake.. and he needs to grow up, he's paying the price for not having started at a crappy team, he's trying to be a rock star, he's toxic, he's cancer to a team, he's not even that great a driver, etc, etc.

I think some of you guys ought to be professional gossips :) There's more panty in this thread than at the Victoria's Secret factory.

Bottom line - the only reason LH gets the scrutiny he does is because he's that good, and drives for Ferrari's arch-rival.

I actually just looked up a few numbers...

-Hamilton has been beating Button all season long, save for the first race where Jenson came in 1st and Lewis came in 3rd.

-Hamilton is beating his teammate by 41 points (he has 40% more points than button)

-Lewis is tied with Fernando for most wins this season, both having 3. This is despite Lewis having 3 DNF's this year, compared to one DNF for Alonso.

-%-wise, Lewis has been on the podium more than any other driver

Sure, he's not leading the WDC.... but last year, when he had a string of bad luck and a battle of will against Massa, he ended up with several DNF's and out-of-the-points finishes in a row, compared to a string of wins, 2nds and 3rds by Button that let Button take the WDC lead. Immediately, it was all about how Nicole had ruined him, he should quit or come back when he's ready to race, etc, etc, etc. Of course, now the situation is reversed (but worse) for Button - and it's still the same stuff... he's not focused, problems in the team, his head isn't right, he's trying to be something he's not, etc, etc.

    Amazing.

Only in F1 and only on f-chat :D
