    Someone shared this photo with me today of Ayerton Senna with his TR. First, I never knew he had one, and second, the proportion of the car are slightly odd with one exhaust pipe that seems behind the bumper...

    Anybody know anything about this photo? Is it actually Senna or some dude who look like him?? If it is, did Senna really own a TR? (or was it a Fiero? :) )

    It´s not about proportion - this picture had been scanned from a double-sided journal...that´s all...

    Yep, now I see the vertical line. It also cuts the engine cover. So I guess the question left is if this is really senna. It's kind of hard to tell, but it does look like him.

    yes, there is a seam visible down the page, and some missing from the center of the pictures, thus the odd proportions ....cool to see he owned a TR back in the day! :)

    If standing near it in a photo means you own it, I think I may have just gone to the top of the list for exotics owned in this part of town.

    I could not confirm/deny what vehicles he owned, but he was involved in driving a lot of different loan/lease cars and part of magazine rewiews, comparisons for the Honda NSX development and blasts of friend's toys - of which Berger had one. To see Ayrton photograpped near a car and used as a proof-of-ownership is a slippery slope. It would be similar to posting a picture of Chris Harris with whatever, and assuming he has the pink-slips.

    Someone else on the board may have a list of what else went with the Mercs and the Hondas, but I'll pass on this hand.

    Eddie Irvine using a 288 as leverage into a Ferrari drive, now that has to be a great story if someone older than me has the background on it. The version I heard was at a distance from a conversation Alan Jones was having, so not fair to either to quote something I must have been 17yrs old at the time when I heard from a good 10m away.

    Hi

    Have been speaking with an Hotel Owners near Monza where the pilots stay during the Italian GP last year in March. Was there for the Ferrari Challenge. Was told that Senna tried a blue Testa (not TR) on the Monza track the day after the italian GP, (courtesy of the Hotel Owners) but he decided it was not the car he expected to be and did not buy one in the end saying he preferred to wait for an 'upgraded' version.

    Obviusly cannot judge if this is the truth or not, but can say for sure this guy is well introduced in the F1 circus and within Ferrari.....

    The date isn't correct, TR didn't come out until '84.
