Actually Great Job on the Sketch, your welcome. And no I cannot say anymore on the P12, but it is pretty wild.
Ferrari have spend 6 million dollars on their simulator, so i guess they care. http://blog.axisofoversteer.com/2012/01/6-million-dollar-spider-ferrari-f1.html
Everyone including us uses simulators to design race cars. I still remain more interested in driving, racing and testing them on real roads.
Now that I understand your question I can answer it. The McLaren cell is very cleaver. It's structure doesn't depend on roof, windshield shape or doors which can be changed without having to "P 4/5" the tub structurally as we had to do with the Enzo tub to change those items.
i might be completely wrong, just found that on the internet from ntv-site; looks like enzo xx or what? regards e Image Unavailable, Please Login
Was at Ferrari Racing Days at Silverstone today. They had some issues of Ferrari magazine issue 18 floating around. In it is a lot of detail and pics of the F70 (whatever it will be called). Just about the only thing missing is the final body shape - but many many things are clear. There are pics if the full drivetrain bolted to the chassis, pics of the tub etc. I am sure this issue will be in mailboxes within a week or two. I suspect Ferrari will show something at Paris - if not the whole car.
Something VERY special will be shown in Paris, just not to the public. Many people have already seen the complete final production version of the body. I wouldn't be surprised if Ferrari showed a couple design ideas in Paris, but I would be VERY surprised to see the car there. They still have somethings to work out about the car and Ferrari hasn't shown a concept car that turned into a production car in over 30 years.
That car is having something very cool done to it, if its the same chassis that Ferrari has held onto for awhile.
None of the renders are close, not really. They're just collages of current Ferrari designs and mismatched attempts to sell add space. From what I've seen of the car its breaking new ground much like the Enzo did. If you want an idea of what the car will look like, look at the windscreen. That windscreen is staying. Ferrari has kept more than a one car, for special projects. Ferrari wants people to take the one to one program further and the FXX is the perfect car such a project.
Hi, what do you think, new car in présentation for the Fm in valencia for the end novembre starting décember??
Not trying to do a F70 render in any way, just thought it would be a nice Ferrari supercar looking like that Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've considered the windscreen shape - which will probably lead to some pontoon-style front fenders - in my sketch: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=141745952&postcount=1554 But there is one feature of the screen that has me stumped: it seems to have a noticeable crease which results in a step where the screen meets the roof - though this is probably a camo piece. Maybe for a moveable full-width flap at roof leading edge for air intake or active aero? Or maybe it's just a design feature because the top of the screen extends so far back.
I'll play. The curvature suggests some sort of bubble passenger capsule. There are some interesting things going on with the side glass and doors as well.
Looks like from that shape they want to direct a lot of airflow around/along the sides The level out at the top maybe the start of a glass roof....
