Dented metal and not ripped/torn fiberglass... the torn off rear spat... looks real for my eyes. Sad to see, hopefully it has been resurrected the right way.

Isn't that the truth!!! Remember back in 1970 when the Plymouth dealers couldn't give the "Superbird" away (at least on the west coast!). Most went out that door for about $5000.00

Now a Superbird with a 426 Hemi is a $300K car. Wish I had 2 of them in my garage!!! :)

That was way too long... 42 years.
    I remember in 2004 an LP400 was $135k.
If you buy Microsoft share in 1982 and sell it in 1998 You don't really care whether a Superbird is $300k. You just buy it.

There was a white Countach in a UK series back in the 80s but the car was mainly used in the background. From memory it was a 500S or 5000QV.

What about the cars used in Miami Vice, there were at least two different models used in one scene although they were supposed to be the same car. Was quite obvious when you saw it. There were also Countaches in Walker, Texas Ranger, (red) and Hunter (silver) but don't know if those were real.

i think he meant as the prime character car, instead of multiple cars or replicas (like miami vice did, etc)

i only slightly remember that show?

It was, and in fact, I borrowed my mother's box sets a couple of weeks ago to find the episodes with the car in.

I believe the Lamborghinis (Countaches and Jalpas) were real in Miami Vice.

The Lamborghinis used in Miami Vice were genuine models and not replicas. The Ferraris on the other hand that Crocket (character) drove were sometimes replicas. The Daytona, always, and the TR during chase sceens that they deemed too risky for the authentic TR used for most close ups. BUT all the Lambos were real.

    you misread,
i didn't say the lambos were replicas there, however they did use multiple cars in scenes (thus broken continuity) and they did use replica for the testarossa (a pantera clocked as testarossa actually)

Peter, those pics are of an Albert Twin Turbo Countach with a special built engine cover for their newly designed intercooler setup. I have no official knowledge of this, but I would suspect upgraded axles were needed to handle the additional torque.
