Hi All, My car did not come with a infotainment manual. Its a 2011. Any help would be appreciated as its doing my head in. Here are a few questions: 1. When you have the speedo on the Right Hand Side (RHS) TFT and you are playing the radio or CD's, how do you change the track on the CD or the radio stations (the volume control know pauses the CD but does not change the track). 2. When you have the infotainment system on the RHS TFT is there a quick way to cycle through the preset radio stations without having to go the the list and select one 3. For those with Right Hand Drive cars the manual says the battery charger is on the "other side" - does that mean the drivers side or the other side of the glove box as cant seem to find the connector. Thanks very much for the help
Ask your local dealer for the thumb drive with the manual on it. I would think they would oblige for a nominal cost, if any. If not, I can try to copy it onto a drive and send it to you.
I posted this on another thread. It will give you an idea of my view of the right hand screen. My problem with the car after 6 months is I still cannot figure out how to find the sattelite radio station I want. I beleve I have "conquered" the left hand screen. However, there is not enough space here to tell you how overwhelmed I am by the right hand screen. For example, I can never find my radio "preferences" and have to "scan" to get back to a station. I once saw a different sized speedometer, but cannot find it again. I have to start over if I want to go from the radio or music to the navigation system without being forced to listen to the radio or music. Cannot just turn it off and switch to navigation. Best
Thanks very much. Will talk to dealer next week and if no go I will take you up on the offer. Regards Jon
Also forgot to mention the whole VR (voice recognition system) You can go through the tutorial and train the system via the right dash menu. To activate the VR interface, tap the center button on the back left side of the steering wheel, my memory is a bit fuzzy right now but i think the up and down buttons around it are the volume control. Your mileage may vary with it though... never really used it. Too focused on making sure others don't tag me
FWIW, there was no "separate" Infotainment manual, even on the USB, at least for NA market cars....one of my biggest gripes with the 458. If you've found one, please, do share... (I had to look at owners manual and the "quick reference guide" to get as far as I have) FWIW - on presets and having to scan to find the station, that annoyed me, but I may figured I it out (somewhat)... Assuming you have set the presets you want, go to CHANNEL LIST and scroll all the way up to the top of the list....almost to "Channel 0". There is menu option (a box to check, literally) that says DISPLAY PRESETS ONLY. Once you check that, when you hit the up/down toggle on the back of the right side of the wheel, it will scan through your presets. You can also go to Channel List on the screen, which will only show your presets. Have yet to figure out how to more easily bounce between presets and whole channel list without having to go back into the main menu. Also, SOMEWHERE in this system is the ability to organize/group SAT stations by categories and/or genre; it's almost as if they disable those features, or hid the menus where I cannot find them. Also, for those of you with Sirius SAT, make sure you've set up the dynamic traffic information. If it's receiving data, you'll see little cars/traffic icon in the right TFT when you have the infotainment screen up. Make sure you pick the alert setup, even if you're not using NAV, you can get a picture of any traffic ahead. Accuracy in large metro areas is pretty impressive so far.
I found out last weekend finally how the speedometer on the RH screen works. You can only have it on if NOT listening to music, NOR using the navi. You do this by holding the menu button on the RH side of the dash down until the infotainment switches off. The RH display will then display the speedometer (if you have set it to do so using the LH display "SETUP" menu). The music will continue to play if you switch to navi but you can stop it easily enough by pressing the volume button in once. Onno
I also saw a second speedometer, smaller size when playing with switches and can never located it again. Best
The following links should help. The link to Part 1 is here: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQMSJnV3QpM[/ame] The link to Part 2 is here: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKDJsqhe3jE[/ame]
You don't need presets just push the middle back button to activate VR and say the name of the satellite station, "Howard Stern" or "Classic Vinyl." Works like a charm.
Thanks for. The tips. I was pulling over off the road each time I needed to change a channel or move to another function.

Shack, That looks like Zagame's. When I'm in Melbourne for business I try to pop in and have a caffe with Claudio. Great dealership and very personable staff. Let me know when you're in Sydney. Best, JJ Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
That is probably the one on the LEFT display, which is slightly smaller than the one on the RIGHT display. It can be found when cycling through the various STATUS screens, after oil temp, tyre pressure and so on. Only the 2012 and later cars have that one. Onno
