Thank God for that, I for one am not a fan of having all your production cars look the same a la Aston Martin and Porsche.
I was a big fan of ferrari having completely different looking cars (430, 612, 599 and Cali) but am not so sure with FF and F12 sharing so many design cues and interiors of F12, FF and 458 being so similar.
I hope McLaren makes the P12 look completely different form MP4-12c (inside and out).

I have not seen the inside, but the outside will be extremely different.

true. it's at best a poor sketch, less so an accurate depiction IMO ...we'll all know soon enough! :)

the one thing i find interesting IIRC that the pending reveal is to be a static model, and not a fully functioning car? ...that seems strange to me that they would be so rushed to show ...the F1 was revealed fully functioning & ready to go, the new Ferrari will be also ...IMO i'd rather see the P12 revealed once it's sorted & ready to drive, but it makes me think they know that Ferrari would be ready (with fuly funtioning car) before them if so, so they are rushing to show this sooner

Fully functioning cars will be shown to potential buyers very shortly.

that makes the talk of them showing a display only car at the show odd?

i know you didn't, i just said it was odd ....my preference is that a reveal like this should be a fully functioning car, that's all

The pictures that Jim and I saw at Monterey, will look even better than these do. What you don't see is the top of the sides that feed air into the blown double diffuser at the rear and the car has a DRS as well.

The images must have been leaked, and then McLaren sent out an email to do damage control with a picture of the rear of the car.

The automotive leaks are never really leaks...

Need to see IRL shots + other colours for this car.

V8 Turbo, wonder how it will sound!

It will be the beast under bonet but disign... to much... in my eyes looks like some Mansory tuning kit for MP4... I hope F70 will have elegant lines, not like this.

That car looks amazing. Maybe cooler than the Zonda.

Not true - they've had the release of these planned for today at 4:45 GMT for at least a week because I was told last week that the wait to see the car would be over at that moment. Also this morning (UK Time) on Facebook they added a post informing people to check back at 4:45.

The InsideMcLaren guy went to press a bit early with them as he didn't understand the embargo on the images when they appeared earlier on the McLaren Automotive Media page.

The double diffuser is pretty cool but to my eyes it looks a lot like a Hot Wheels.

I was thinking the same thing, but wonder if that's just because it's day-glow orange.

There are many aspects to it that look really very interesting indeed... I'd like to see it in another colour. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.
