I don't know if you've seen the car but the 599xxevo and MC have a very large influence on the design. The lap times that the mule is turning without the special aero package are amazing, this car is much quicker than the F12 which is quicker than the Enzo.
Hmm...not sure I like it. However, I didn't really like the MP4-12C when it was first released, but it has really grown on me. Maybe this will too. -Gil
The rear is the best part. The front doesn't sit right with me though, and the side profile reminds me of a car that is already on the road (can't think of the name right now). -Gil
Looks great. A lot less generic then the MP4-12C. I like how they have styled the front lights to look the Mclaren emblem/badge. I can also see a great deal of the F1 in the P12, which is a good thing in my book.
I quote you once but I'll have to do it once again. Here you were criticizing the work of an "artist" without even seeing the car yourself. That the car is out, please take another look at mr. Antar again, you will A LOT of similarities with the actual car. It is more that just schoolboy doodle like you said. Show some respect next time.
Looks like they took all the photos down from that site now?? Did anyone save them all to their computer already?
Embargo until tonight. I have to say just looking at the rear shot posted by Napolis does not light a must have fire in me, looks a little too contrived but I will reserve judgement until 11.45.
It is back up. http://insidemclaren.com/2012/09/p12-first-images-this-is-it/ By the way, the photos that Jim and I saw at Monterey, with the different angles are better than these.
I like the rear of the car. However it looks too similar to the mp4-12c from the side imo. Almost like it is just a modified mp4-12c. I know it is much more than that but I was expecting to like it a lot more. I will wait to see all the pictures before making a final judgement though.
Upon seeing P12: - My first reaction was - 'Is that it? Looks like a 12C Scud' - My second reaction was - 'Nice rear!' - My third reaction was - 'I will probably get to like the looks and there is some very clever tech going on' (e.g. no windscreen wipers because it doesn't need them with the new tech glass) - My fourth reaction was - 'There is no way that this car is worth 4x 12C money... especially as they are planning to make 500' (the analogy is similar to Aston's evolution of the DB9 into the DBS) - My fifth reaction was - 'Ferrari didn't need to pull the new Enzo from Paris, it's bound to be more beautiful (fingers crossed)' So - a mixed reaction from me, but what is almost certain is that P12 will be monumentally quick on track. Come on Ferrari - get the F70 out so we can have a head to head asap!
Note how right and left sides are of different cars. Left side kicks up into a triangle at rear of side window. Right doesn't seem to?
When you get a chance to see some of the other photos with greater detail on the P12, I am sure you will like it better. Also wait until they release the Specifications on this car, it will be mind blowing.
In a world with 1200hp+ cars not even teleportation is mindblowing. 0-100km/h time can't be sub 2.5 secons. max speed can't be over 436km/h....
