To be fair, it did look real but I wasn't going to claim it was as I couldn't be 100% sure! Very nice car you have there.

The black COuntach at the top is right hand drive (also see the position of the wiper, which confirms this). Where were the photos on the web - can you post a link?

There was a revival of the tv show "the saint" in 1987 called "the saint in manhattan" which never got past the pilot, but the main character drove a black countach. The quality here sucks but cool to see it driving by grand central station, on park ave to the Waldorf. Starting at the 3:00 mark.

So that is where HotWheels got the idea for those ugly wheels in the late 80s and early 90s! :D

Can anyone tell me if the www.Lamborghiniregistry.com is still an active site ? It seems it is never updated and the posts are all very old.

    Robert,

    That image is 'flipped'.

The car is in fact a black/tan LHD DD QV which Californian John W bought as a new car in 1986 from S.E.A Automobili in Rome, and still owns to this day 26 years later.

It has about 100,000 km on the clock and after the accident it was restored by Al Burtoni. I believe that occurred some 20 years ago and the car was off the road for about 2 years whilst it was being rebuilt.

Good question. I let my membership lapse because there was almost never any valuable information when I looked up a car.

You're lucky, it automatically charges me every year.........where is all our money going to every year?
Glenn really needs to let go and let all of us owners have access, it'll be a success. He'll never be able to update all the cars in this lifetime.

The entire premise of converting that site to a pay site was ill conceived. I never quite understood why I should pay to see the very information I (and other enthusiasts) sent in. Part of the rationale given at the time was that if it was a pay site, there would be time and money to update everything. Since I never paid, I didn't know if it was being updated, but based on the comments, it appears it isn't. It's a shame really, because the information is useful and makes for an interesting read.

Scoot, isn't that car the 1st KLA non anniv (12408) from Pa a few years ago?
there are more than 5 KLAs. I counted a potential of 16 with 8 confirms
Joe's VIN of the grey KLA with black rear bumpers from CA is unknown to me. That is one more from the 8.

I did not think there were that many KLA non Anniversary cars. Could you list the 8 you have confirmed ? It would be great info.

I have been told that they skip numbers sometimes so I guess the only way to really tell is if all those cars can be identified at some point. To say that there are X amount of cars built because of the number spread may or may not be true. I have found 5 cars that exist for certain. Also, how can anyone prove that KLA12424 was in fact the last made.

Raymond, ~LA12415 I've seen listed as JLA12415, indicating a pre-September 1988 build, rather than a KLA prefix. Ditto for ~LA12412.

Thanks for adding KLA12421 - any more out there, anyone ?

So unless I am missing something I see 5 "1989" cars listed. The others are 1988 cars with the 10th digit being a J and not a K.

What? Focusing info on current cars? It's not fully searchable? Well, I guess we'll sit tight.
