The Furai looks a lot better though. It doesn't look as forced or "tuned" if you will. I'm not a fan of the bodykit aesthetics of the P1. The front splitter is too massive, the side skirts looks totally out of place and the diffuser is too big for my liking.
But those things NEED to be there. Personally I like them, and love the rear, but the rest of the car is a bit generic.
Of course they have to be there but they could have integrated them more elegantly - especially the side skirts.
Yes, but it will probably have had a period where it is was called dated. Let's wait another 10 years then we will see if the Mclaren isn't outdated itself...
I'd be surprised if it was ever called dated it's a timeless design one sold for a record $35 million in May US dollars
Okay, but I can imagine that in the year '72 or so it could have been labelled as old fashioned. Anyhow when you are comparing with the 250 GTO -indeed the King of style- no car will stand a chance. I myself am not a big fan of the Enzo neither but when you compare a brand new car with a 10 year old design, the second will always feel a bit outdated.
Don´t really like the Mac....like the mp4/12c....it´s ..."boring"? I mean, it´s a bit "spacy", as someone else said, i don´t think it will age well. You pick an F 40 and that think will never age, the design is that good!!! Even the f1, the xj 220 or p4/5 also seem that they will not be dated but i can´t say the same about the p12.....to me it´s simply desapointing....but that won´t worry Ron, i couldn´t afford one even if i liked it so, no client lost here
very koenigsegg, I like it from *some* angles. undoubtedly will be absolutely rapid but as far as it achieving their goal as the 'ultimate drivers car' then surely it'll have had to deviate from the detached/electronic assisted feel of the MP4-12C ?
Someting tells me that from now on, we will start seeing/spotting the F70 prototype with much less camouflage...
That's pretty amazing, I never knew that car even existed. It looks like it came unadulterated from the design studio into real life and obviously it works, and as you said, sounds fantastic! Love the 911T trying to keep up.
If it's that much faster than an M600 than clearly the rumors of the active aero allowing 2 gs on street tires is true. And then it doesn't sound impossible. And that would make the performance truly staggering. Which might make up for it looking the way it does. It's going to be interesting for sure!
+1 it does not move the game on styling wise and is just a bizzarre looking car looks like it escaped from the studio before it was signed off.
I think the P1 is disappointing. In my opinion the old Enzo looks better, this is too Japanese for my taste. In the absence of the new Enzo, I would buy the Huayra instead of this. I take Jim's points about performance etc. but I am certain all of these cars are better than my driving, so the last 10 secs at the Nordschleife are irrelevant. For those of you still talking about Ferrari and Paris, please note that the car is FAR from ready. There is still a lot of work to be done, so perhaps it would have been possible to show a non functioning car, but the finished article is at least 6 months away as far as I know I am however confident it will be far better looking than this
Agree with George. Still, I want to see the P1 in its real shape before judging. I quite like it. And yes, I´d take a Huayra over anything.
