Actually Rubens was a great #2 driver to Schumy and helped Ferrari bag multiple constructors titles which is a hell of a lot more than Massa or some of the other #2 guys have done.

I never said he wasn't. He was a great #2 but my point is that's all he was, is, and ever will be. Which is why going to Ferrari was far from a "career killer" but rather gave him (a guy who was never going to be a top-flight WDC-caliber driver) a chance to bag some wins and tons of podiums.

Also, Massa has helped Ferrari bag 2 constructors titles(2007 and 2008).

If the old man was still around that's exactly who he'd sign. The eyebrow isn't driving at full capacity. Give him a team mate whos v quick. I don't think the scuderia have the nerve to do that. They'll leave the shake fist moaner to it, at least for the next few years.

    You have to be kidding.

Alonso is driving the living daylights out of that car. Most of the times overdriving it (recent example was Monza passing on the grass).

The truly sad thing is, that here is somebody knocking Alonso in a thread about Massa, who hasn't been pulling any weight whatsoever in the last few years.

Some people truly live on planet Bizarro where black is white and up is down.

'The Old Man" wouldn't have had much patience with Lewis. Lewis does what is best for Lewis. Which is fine, but mr Ferrari would have other priorities. In fact, I imagine mr Ferrari would be VERY pleased with the way Alonso is handling his affairs within a Ferrari Formula 1 car.

I don't think Alonso needs a challenging teammate to go fast. Plenty of fast drivers in other cars to motivate him. Alonso is at or near his personal best right now.

    Thanks.

If anything I'm worried about Alonso taking insane risks to make up for the shortcomings of the car. Shades of 82 come to mind...

I don't see that happening at all. If Vettel shows up, it's going to be after Alonso IMO. Neither Alonso nor Vettel (both 2-time WDC) would take anything less than the #1 spot. My guess is Perez too, but if that's the case, why the hell not take him NOW (2013)? Don't understand Ferrari. If LH leaves McLaren and Perez doesn't end up there, then we know for sure he's heading to Ferrari in 2014.

If your information is correct then that is the best news I have heard for weeks. I really rate Massa.....He is the perfect partner for Alonso. I dont think its Massa's poor showing but Alonso's incredible ability to drive the nuts of what perhaps isn't the best car Ferrari have ever produced.......Fingers crossed Massa stays

Oh, c´mon, you´ve seen too many movies. The F1 of today has nothing to do with 1982. And if Alonso is good at something is at knowing when he has to take it easy.

Thank God someone else also appreciates Massa....If Alonso has a problem in future races, Massa is still very capable of winning. People have short memories and pre accident Massa was unbeatable on his day.......IF...Massa was to win a race the critics would all be lauding him.... The thought of Vetel moving to Ferrari would be a huge mistake...... Can you really see him and Alonso working together ?

If you don´t know by now i wonder if it´s worth telling you.
But you can go back to 2007 and see that the constructors title was won both by Kimi and Felipe, and that KImi would not have been w.c had Felipe not let him pass in Brazil.
Again in 2008, Ferrari was wcc, and since felipe was thwe higher scorer for Ferrari, i guess he also deserves some credit for it....
Ps. For a Ferrari fan you should pay a litle more atention to what is going on.

Which season are you watching? Serious question.

I'm no fan of Alonso, but he is driving the best of anyone this year. I don't think he's made a mistake as of yet.

But now we are post accident, and only once has he come close to winning, and had to move over. Post accident, he's had 5 podium to date. Alonso has had 26. Massa has clearly shown he ISN'T able to win when Alonso has a problem, if he was we should be first in the WCC and Massa should be with the first 5 (since the field is so close this year).

I'd love to see him do better as he deserves it, but post accident he's never been as quick as he used to be.

The Mclaren was (rightly so) DQ'ed from the WCC because they stole Ferrari data. If that never came to light we would have lost.
