Wrong, despite all of that, Ferrari still managed to edge Mclaren by 1 point, so Ferrari would have won the WCC anyway.
Agree with you, i always liked felipe, even when he was at Sauber, than at Ferrari he kept growing on me and i truly believe he was the best driver in the firld in 08 and 09. Truth is, after the accident he as been underperforming, and he is geting worse every year!!! I believe the last couple of years he as not been good enough to justify his place in a top team but still, i´m hoping he will show me wrong because he was very, very good. Remenber last few races he had the same pace as Alonso in Qualifying, so if he keeps near him in races, maybe, just maybe he can help...i really hope so, and i would love to see another great season from him.
Sorry but you are forgeting something. Mclaren lost the Hungarian G.P points because Alonso stoped Lewis from making a last atempt to get pole by blocking him at the pits. Drivers kept the point but not the team, and so, Ferrari wins by 1 point
Truth is Ron Dennis didn´t even appeal from that decision in Hungary (perhaps because he was looking at the bigger picture and was facing expulsion fron the championship). A cousin of mine who as been judge for some FIA decisions told me he never understod why Ron didn´t appeal from the Hungarian race, because he almost certainly would have gained the points back..of course that wouldn´t make any diference since they where disqualifyed!!
The one who is forgetting something is you: What Alonso did at Hungary was payback: Hamilton and Alonso had an agreement over who gets preferrential treatment. At Silverstone Hamilton got it because it was his home GP and it was agreed that Alonso would get it at Hungary. However then Hamilton "forgot" all about it and that's why Alonso took revenge. That's also why Alonso was so pissed off and blew the whistle. PS: It helps to read "Business F1" where they laid out all the facts.
I'm one of these people. What happened to Hamilton at China (where the team deliberately left him out there with damaged tires despite his calls to come in) and in Interlagos (where the team had Hamilton do an additional pitstop for no reason) is really, really difficult to exlain otherwise. The mighty McLaren pitwall suddenly makes one horrendously false decision after another? In the same year where the FIA is deciding whether to ban them for the entire next year? 2+2
Sorry if you misunderstod my post. I don´t care whose fault was it. Point is, Mclaren lost all points at that race because of Alonso´s actions..it´s as simple as that. Another thing is if he was right to get payback from lewis or not. To tell, you the truth, i still can´t understand how Ron was still backing up Lewis after he insulted him trough radio comunications loud and clear for everyone else to listen!! Mclaren lost that wdc because Ron Dennis simply wasn´t able do discipline his drivers.
Ferrari makes a mistake= they´re idiots. McLaren makes a mistake= impossible!!! And as I´ve always said: if they did it on purpose, then why complain about that stuff of the fuel temperatures. But this is waay off-topic.
PS: It helps to read "Business F1" where they laid out all the facts.[/QUOTE] It helps to watch the races, read everything you can get on the net and on paper...as well as speak to people who are directly involved in the sport.
Right: the "fake mistakes" made them look like idiots, so they decided to protest the "fake results" to make them look like bastards.
All of which I'm doing. So it is kinda strange that you come to a very different conclusion. Then again you think Massa is great and Alonso sucks. Another case of Bizarro world I suppose.
It helps to watch the races, read everything you can get on the net and on paper...as well as speak to people who are directly involved in the sport. Mosley was in charge of the FIA, please do you need to say any more, the man was BENT, he was a race fixing cretin, he made a mockery of the rules of F1 as a sport.
Again you are trying to read something diferent from what i wrote. I never said Alonso was bad driver, in fact i often stated that he fully deserves the place he currently as in the championship standings as i believe he is driving better than ever and has probably been the best driver during all season so far. This however does not change the fact that i don´t like him, because of reasons i already explained many times before. As for Massa (if you bother to read some of my comments on this page) i also said that for the last couple of years he has not been up to the task of driving for Ferrari but, that before his accident he was an amazing driver, and it´s one, that despite his current form i'm still very fond off. Ps: If instead of trying to distorce everything i write you would bother to actually read it properly, i´m sure we would agree a lot more often .
Yes he did, if someone else was in his place, Mclaren would simply have been baned for a couple of years (as Toyota was from the wrc when they where caught cheating) but i believe Mercedes had a lot of influence.
Well, to be honest, what Toyota did back then was FAR worse than what McLaren (supposedly) did. Actually, I think that was probably the biggest cheat in the history of motorsport. But this was about Massa, not about rally cars.
More support from FA for Felipe: http://en.espnf1.com/f1/motorsport/story/89234.html "I think we need to respect that the team will make a decision," he said in Singapore. "In my opinion we need a driver that will respect Ferrari and respect the tradition that here we work for the team and for the red cars. This is the first priority. "Second, I have been working with Felipe for three years now with a very good relationship and if the team decides to change Felipe the person that arrives has to be better than Felipe. All the names and all the things written ... I don't know if they are written with the head or with the heart because all the names you hear, I don't know if you can compare [them] what Felipe did in Formula One and what these little names did in Formula One." Little names lol!!
Unlike Toyota, Mclaren didn't actually break any rules in 2007. Go ahead, look up exactly what they were charged with and banned for - "bringing the sport into disrepute". Mosley should have banned himself for ever under that criteria for his 2009 Nazi sex scandal... by any proper, legal criteria, McLaren would never have been banned at all. It was a Mosley witch hunt, pure and simple. Perfect example, Spa 2007 when Mosley's lap dog, Allen Donnelly (aka "chief steward"), changed / made up rules on the spot to get Hamilton disqualified after passing Kimi then returning the place to Kimi in full compliance with the existing rules.
