that's JLA12410 for definite - Paul C spotted that one. When I visited the factory in December, Ubaldo Scarzi told me they made US FI cars for 2 weeks, then Carb cars for 2 weeks, hence maybe why a JLA12410 RHD Carb was built before a KLA12408 US FI car?
Soooo many cars have not been updated since the paysite discussion. I'm afraid it is just not going to happen. I can't blame Glenn or anyone as it would be an awful lot of work.
Hi guys thought i would introduce myself i have HLA12249 88.5 QV in Acapulco blue bought her 2 years ago and have fallen deeply in love just epic used as the press car for 'Performance Car' feature in 1988 so fitted at factory with sports exhaust and re-jetted carbs probably the loudest combination here she is great forum
Great looking car and fantastic property (you are giving me ideas to do some stone work for for mine). I really love this blue. My car has the same setup and yes the sound is what a lambo is supposed to sound like. More picts please. Do you have the build date?
lamborghiniregistry.com has them as J. Speaking of "proof" still waiting for your list of 8 cars you said in an earlier post you had "COMFIRMED" ?
There are 5 comfirmed at this point. If the 10th digit is not a K then it's not a 1989 car ! KLA12408 - Silver KLA12411 - Pearl White KLA12413 - White KLA12421 - White KLA12424 - Miura Blue
Wrong, all are built in 1988 but some are MY 1989, if you want to be precise then for the sake make it correct! We have even seen cars built beginning of August having the next MY, unless you have the factory built list it's pointless to say it's 1989 or 1988, fact is they were built sometimes between August and December 1988 and a few of them got MY 1989 VINs, that's all what can be stated.
WRONG, They were not built between August and December 1988, The last Non Anniversary car was built in AUGUST. So all cars built after August were Anniversary cars. No kidding that 1988 and all 1989 Non Anniversary cars were built in 1988, gee thanks for clearing that up ! I will try and rephrase my original question and simplify it so maybe you can wrap your arms around. How many NON ANNIVERSARY cars were built with the letter K as the 10th digit in the VIN ? Which in fact would make them a MODEL YEAR 1989 REGARDLESS OF WHEN THEY WERE ACTUALLY BUILT. As I originaly said, I believe the anwer is 5 unless there are others that I am unaware of.
Welcome, great car. I remember it when it was new and owned by Steve D from Sevenoaks in Kent. It started off wingless. What happened to the original wheels? Image Unavailable, Please Login
All 4 wheels, the wiper and all the badges were stolen off the car before it was rescued by a certified car nut...... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Joe Yes have a copy of the article a great read even the 100th time! Have debated taking wing off but welcome others views As I understand the wheels were changed very early on in late 89 / 90 by the factory as owner preferred them personally I would like a originals Just need to find some now there's a challenge By the way does anyone know how to remove seats as I need to get leather reconditioned Do they unbolt from underneath car as I can see no way of accessing from inside ?
Loved that article, a great read. The wing is a personal thing - make yourself happy! You can still find standard wheels today and keep these as spares. Deploy the aft-fore lever full open and slide the seats all the way forward whilst holding the lever open. They should slide right off the rails. By the way the best feature of your car is that gorgeous dark metallic blue color. fab.
Now as I got my car registered to my country I can share some documents that came with car: These, If I understand correct, are European specification papers for trafic in France Do note power output and torque (Nm) There are also fuel consumpson and road noise. Refrence car seems to be DLA12591
If it were mine, I would remove the wing. As it is yours, you should do whatever floats your boat. Gorgeous car, as Joe said I love the color. I am sure it is stunning in person.
I remember looking at the Performance Car article when it came out. The cover photo in the mist is fantastic. The car looks just right without the rear wing, but ultimately, it's your choice. Original wheels also look better, but that's just my opinion.
