    Hey guys!

I just hooked up a battery tender to the battery. I'd like to fish the wires through the firewall and into the front trunk. I can access the plug much easier this way when I want to plug it in.

Besides how to get through the firewall, where do you guys have the plug where you connect it to the charger?

    Thanks!

On my Scud I connect behind the driver's seat. That way I don't have to open the passenger door (which is close to the garage wall).

Mine comes out at the base of the windshield (via through the firewall) and is tucked along the back of the hood opening. Its seamless and out of sight - plus right above the battery.

I bought the Porsche one that plugs into the cigarette lighter. It does wonders for the Porsche. I will be trying it on the 430. If it works..... it's the best $62 you can spend

The reason is simple. On the 430, the accessory plug is not connected unless the key is on.

+1 Did this on my 360 with a Schumacher tender from Walmart. Around $20. Had to cut the rings and pry them open a bit to fit the posts.

I just hooked it up to the battery directly, when I want to charge it, I just put the window down about 1" on the passenger side, and shut the door. Is there a problem with this? It seems that everyone is hooking it up behind the drivers seat. Is there a benefit of that, that I am not seeing?

That's what I do and then shut the door on a mf towel and the cord. The battery eventually sucks down juice and you have to either drive the car or use a battery charger on the AGM setting to bring it back up again.

No problem, I just find it easier to do it from the driver's side.
All the electrons wind up in the same place (the battery). ;-)

This is exactly what I do. When not in use, just tuck the pigtail over the top of the footwell panel. It's easy to find, and you don't have to open any panels.

+1; connector just barely visible above where passenger feet reside. On a spider its even easier, I can just lean in and connect it. With my top down its cake, with top up I just close the door on the wire at window level and leave the charger on roof, no problem.

Getting a large connector through the firewall will be a major issue. You will need to at least cut off the connector, fish with something that looks like an old school unscrewable antenna, an re-solder on the connector. a PIA IMO.

I do the same but I don't lower the window. I route it out the front of the passenger door; the gap is perfect. I pull slightly on the wire to make sure it is not pinched.

No, thank you but not accurate.

Good for you. Here are a few photos below so that you will be able to find the factory pass through located behind & to the right of the battery. Easy to find. Just match up these photos. The last photo is how the connector resides at the base of the windshield awaiting your connection. No door to shut on the cord, no need to even unlock the car (imagine how simple this is if you find your battery is dead & the car is locked). Its ready at a moments notice.

My 430 has wires behind the driver seat but i can't figure out what they do. My car gets plugged in for charging by the windshield wiper area inside a little black cover. Three screws come out and then there is a plug that is a pain to get in. The charger is in the trunk in a leather bag. Works well but a pain to use all the time.

Can you hook them up directly on both termianls. or do you need to hook up the negative to the frame?
