YES. Huge +1. This is absolutely disgusting. Urine is only sterile until it reaches the urethra. So no, whatever gets on your hands isn't harmless/hygienic.
I am giving you the "fist pump" salute when I see you next time, you definetly got me worried about you now...
Oh please, give your anti-bodies a good work out. All this anti-bacterial crap has created a generation of wussies!!!
Why was this blog retracted? http://jalopnik.com/5942243/who-is-so-afraid-of-a-jalopnik-story-about-ferrari-theyd-try-to-make-us-pull-it-down?tag=ferrari It's still up on Jalopnik http://jalopnik.com/5938170/how-ferrari-is-losing-a-generation-of-buyers
Are there any Canadian Lawyers following this? If there are is anything in this blog actionable under Canadian Law? IMO under US Law there clearly is not. http://jalopnik.com/5938170/how-ferrari-is-losing-a-generation-of-buyers
All they had to do was a small PR move apologizing for the mishap and write some type of "here at FoO, our customers are important to us bla bla bla..." and it would have all been over and everyone would have been happy and satisfied and the whole story would have been over with a happy ending. Instead, egos have taken over, legal threats are made and now everyone looks bad: the author is made out to look like a slanderer, Ferrari looks like bullies and it's become a no-win situation for everyone. If it weren't for us human beings, the world would be a beautiful place.
Mmmmm....disagree. The author spoke his mind and his sentiments were from the gut. The rest of your post...agree.
I agree with you 100%. What I meant was that there is always a stigma that gets attached to you once you get sued, even when you're innocent and win a legal litigation or are cleared of ant wrongdoing. What he did was not slander but he is now made to look like one because of the accusations and it's completely unfair. I don't see how they even have a case. The guy wrote an honest review and posted it. Does this mean that a movie studio can now sue a movie critic if he says anything negative about a movie? It's all so ridiculous...
I seriously don't think that they would go so far as to sue. They're just rattling sabers is all. Kudos to Jalopnik!!!
Absolutely hilarious! What a joke, and an absolute embarrassment to have that dealer as our major Canadian representation to the rest of the world. I'm surprised fecal matter doesn't spew out from the mouths of the team at FoO - they're evidently so full of BS. The way they handled this is nothing short of despicable, pathetic, and utterly crass. Makes me sick.
I understand what happened but I don't get what FoO can sue anyone for? The original blog is just an opinion, posting it online turns into a blog that's still an opinion and having it go "viral" just means a lot of other people are reading this opinion. It's just a Ferrari owner talking about his experience at the dealer. Whatever happened to freedom of speech? We have people killing other people in parts of the world because of movies and cartoons and the creators or claiming freedom of expression, so how is that any different from what happened here? (I don't want to take this thread into a conversation of this, I'm just giving it as an example) Assuming there's no "under the table" money handed over to the blogger or websites (Jalopnik/Double Clutch) from McLaren, this is just mind boggling to think this is how Ferrari is going about it.
Sorry, but there is NOTHING in that guys article that is remotely sue-able material. If there was, EVERY comedian, EVERY late-night talk show host, EVERY Monthy Python film, EVERY piece on 60 minutes would have been sued.
Bernie, you don't strike me as that naive. Taking legal action has nothing to do with right or wrong.
From the article: "At Ferrari of Ontario I've come to accept the fact that I'll be ignored. I've always wondered why that is. Alex in Parts is a fantastic person to deal with, but I can't say that about anyone else because I'm like a ghost in that dealership.... ... if Ferrari of Ontario doesn't change their outlook on their customer relations I find myself thinking they just might lose an entire generation to the more hungry competition." Libelous?
