+1 on the first part, not so much on the second...... [Ducks & covers ] Again, I honestly think Fred's simply on another planet. Outside of McHam & Seb I don't think there's another jockey out there that could do any better than Phil with the beast..... Cheers, Ian
im hoping alonzo win it, it would be marvellous year looking how the car is but hamilton and mclaren are so fast now unless a dnf for hamilton in these upcoming races hamilton remain my fav to take this year title
Will happen. While I like the fact that mistakes are costly here I don't like how one fool's accident can screw up everyone else's race.
I believe it was on the BBC during practice they mentioned there hasn't been a race in Singapore without the appearance of a SC.
It's the Asian Monaco, of course it will happen. After all we got Lettuce back and the team will have fixed Senna's car by then as well. And there is Andropow and the Pastor. Action guaranteed.
I have a funny feeling he's gonna go backwards - He's under strict instructions to keep his nose *very* clean..... Maybe cause a pile-up behind him by being too conservative? Cheers, Ian
I really believe our only hope for the title is a DNF by Hamilton in the coming races. Because right now Alonso doesn't have a prayer of winning it on pace. Still, after all these years, Ferrari is struggling with correlation problems and can't get upgrades to work. Pathetic.
Ahh, no need to give up yet. He has, admittedly surprisingly, got a pretty good lead after all. It was only a few races back that Mclaren were lost..... It can happen again. This is a pretty unusual circuit after all - Certainly no more like it to come after this. Cheers, Ian
And what of Hungary, Spa, and Monza? McLaren has been fast everywhere. Fernando's lead is NOTHING. LH will probably lop off another ten points off it (at least) this race. There's just too many races left and Ferrari is way too slow. EDIT: Not giving up, 2007 showed why you should never give up, but I'm a realist and Ferrari simply has to find some pace while there is still a lead to be had. That much is clear. I'm just not sure I can stomach a 4th McLaren win in a row...
Bad at certain tracks, good at others. The "handling" tracks seem to be a particular bugaboo for the Scuderia. I don't know if you would necessarily describe all of the below as unfavorable circuits for Clifford. Not saying they'll be faster than McLaren necessarily, but I don't see Alonso qualifying down the grid. If he can continue to get on the podium and if McLaren and Red Bull get into a battle and exchange wins...let's just say that all hope is not lost yet. If it were only Alonso v Hamilton at the front, I could see your point. However, there still are other teams that can be flies in the ointment Oct 6 Japanese Grand Prix Oct 13 Korean Grand Prix Oct 28 Indian Grand Prix Nov 4 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Nov 18 United States Grand Prix Nov 25 Brazilian Grand Prix
Yes there is still alot to play for, your right, other teams can pinch points of each other will help him. Alonso as long as he keeps finishing in the top 5/ he still has a great chance of winning the WDC. Mclaren do need to get Button to play hold up mode now and help Hamilton, but I doubt they will.
IMO, other cars mixing it up is only going to hurt Alonso. McLaren is clearly the best car and LH will just keep bagging poles because he's a great qualifier. 10 points here, 15 points there, FA's lead is evaporated. Hopefully the car will be better at Suzuka (and particularly Korea because it has some long straights and that should work w/the F2012.)
Say it ain't so!....... I know we beg to differ on a few things, but I *never* had you figured for a member of the tin-foil hat brigade! Seriously, they're all so damn close right now (the Rev P2! ) that it's way too close to call IMESHO. Then we've got your beloved tires coming in to play, the SC and *anything* can happen. But not at Bernie's behest - Not now, not ever IMO. Cheers, Ian
+1 I was going to mention that, thats what he wants for the show. Thankfully his side kick has been side kicked, his weapon for just doing that.
Just tweaking a few noses. Bernie operates on a much larger canvas. There was an interesting comment on SPEED this morning. Something about the teams agreeing that rule manipulation wasn't the most efficient way to manage costs. Anyone know more about this?
LOL No need for a hat. Any one that has any doubt I suggest they ask Bernie, and to be honest I do like down to wire, I do hope and think it will be through the natural fair state of play though.
OK, good! +1 He'd certainly like it to go down to the wire, but isn't gonna **** with it if it doesn't. Yeah - There's a few recent articles on the topic at Autosport (which has locked me out till the end of the month or I pay!) Most of 'em (apart from the Cans it seems) are in favor of a "hard" budget cap, not "technical constraints". IIRC, JT is saying the FIA should be the police but Bernie made some comment about the teams making their own rules...... [Talk about the loonies running the asylum! ] Cheers, Ian
