Just came back from the dentist and watched qualy. Dentist went well, thanks for asking (nothing wrong woo).

Good qualy session. Grosjean has the real edge on Kimi in qualy, man he's quick. Schu beating Nico once again, good stuff. Interesting tire strategy by Merc. What happened to the Saubers? wow.

So, safety car tomorrow, I'm guessing Maldonado will cause it in the first 10 laps.

    Nine laps too optimistic IMO.

First corner is pretty scary, imo. Alonso needs to be careful, but I think that Vettel is the guy who's in the most danger. He will certainly be aggressive at the start...I can see the Rev spearing him at the first corner and carrying them both into the area right of the chicane.

Webber moonwalks another start and is the only one running on lap 2.

Hopefully Maldonado is overly-careful and he's the one doing the MJ impersonation tomorrow.

I have to say though, if not for his overreacting when dueling other drivers, we might be marveling at how fast a driver Maldonado is. Unfortunately, much like Grosjean, the lack of calm under pressure detracts from his significant driving skills.

If Mclaren keeps up the pace with this car I don't believe Alonso will hang onto his lead, and neither will Red Bull. If Ham wins this WDC I would see it is almost obnoxious of him to leave Mclaren. They have simply been untouchable lately. Ever since Mclaren installed that funky turning vane which curves horizontally and over the top front of the sidepod intake it's been unbelievably quick. Wonder how long it will take to see that bit copied.

If Hamilton wins the title in a Macca it won't be honor that causes him to resign. ;)

I assume that if that bit were transferable it would be on order cars by now. My guess is that it's making some other component(s) downstream more effective. These days you really can't change just one part of a design.

Grosjean sure is quick on a single lap. Race pace has been Kimi all season though. Could just be a different setup, like shoe and britney.

    Forecast possible storms..

If it stays bone dry, Lewis takes it. If wet and wild, hmm, Shumi joins the list of 2012 winners ;o)

I think these young guns are in the frame of mind they are untouchable with the improved safety of the tracks and cars over the years.

The FIA needs to wake up to the fact and hand out more race bans, this hurts the driver and team, not just grid dropping and fining them cash, < a fruitless exercise IMO. The reckless driving needs nipping in the bud now.

What use would it be cash fining Mald ,when he can bring almost £30million to buy a ride in the big time.

The comments on Mald taking Hamilton IMO are not funny, what they are wishing for could end up with the very worst happening, then finally would they then understand that this is not a game, It is life and death at very high speed.

Mmm. Storm = Charlie killing the suspense by mandating a SC start. Even my mutt is still ticked about Montreal '11.....

Good point. Money is meaningless. Race bans hurt drivers, teams and sponsors.

    +1

    Devils advocate here;

    - For sure, monetary fines mean nothing at this level.

    - Hurt the driver? OK, but there's plenty of others ready to try.

    - I suspect Fauxtus got more TV time & commentary with young J'Dam driving that one race than they would had Lettuce still been there....... Are the sponsors "hurting" as a result? Or are they "encouraging" such BS? ;)

If they want "bad behavior" to bite, taking points away is the only thing that really hurts 'em IMO - and even then, only the little guys.

    Cheers,
    Ian

I remember, Steve. I have three and this one looks identical to the agitator of the group. A fan of Clifford...;)
