Dear Antonio: Your sentiments mirror mine. However, I know I need not remind you that Lamborghini's symbol is the B U L L. Please free to apply accordingly.
Tony is on the forums. All he would have to do, in the future, is ask and do homework. He should use the vast amount of info this forums has.
Actually, one of "the" cars from MV They used two different cars in the chase. I never know why they had to do that either. Go back and watch the tail lights change almost shot to shot in that scene
Watching the Miami vice video, I saw they certainly used one real component on the Daytona.... the exterior rear view mirror! If you notice at 1:41 in the clip, it's drooped! The darn mirrors on my 308 always did the same thing! And usually when out with the club doing some spirited driving! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HU964Wtmkkc#t=40s
Sorry but you guys aren't teaching me anything here.... i am well aware of the editing mistakes in MV and in fact years ago pointed them out in regards to switching cars. Hell i noticed watching it prime time when it originally aired. That was not my point. I was simply mentioning that nobody has been able to find out which DD played this small part (yes while mistakenly being switched with a 5000) and maybe this red car could be a candidate since i don't see many wht/wht DD's floating around the States. As far as why,, we will never know unless someone talks to a person who worked on the set back in the day.
I'm kind of confused...... how do we know that the car Tony has for sale was originally white/white? This was the same car that Gary & Carlo had for sale last year, was it not?: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=140865468&postcount=1 And, when I look at Glen's ILR, the car was was Red/Tan at least since 2001 when Bob D. owned it in Atlanta (going by the copyright on the photos). So it has been Red/Tan for the last 11 years. http://www.lamborghiniregistry.com/Forums/HLA12078.php Someone changed the color between 1987 and 2001 then? As to the Miami Vice Countach video. I thought I had seen every episode of Miami Vice, but when folks first started posting this episode a couple years ago, I was like "How in the Holy heck did I ever miss this episode?!?!?!!!!" LOL!!! It would be interesting to talk to Michael Mann and ask him why they used multiple Countach's for that chase sequence. Mike
When Bob purchased the car it was white with white interior he then had it painted red and changed the interior to tan.
Thanks Vic. I wonder where the "white" interior is at now.... someone would probably kill for it! ;-) Unless it was just re-dyed. I often wonder how many spare tires, tool-kits, owners manuals and other "odd & sods" are lying around in peoples garages. ;-) Mike
Hi Vic, did you see it white or know Bob? Just curious if you had any insight to the decision as white is such a great color on these cars (of course red looks good too). Like i said previously, i saw this car at Celebration and I thought the paint looked great. Whomever Bob is I think he had it redone nicely. Didn't notice the tail lens but as Joe stated you can remove it and reseal it back in place. There is a nice youtube video that shows the paint plus a little engine rev [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7ESYl7Rsb8&feature=channel&list=UL[/ame] I thought there was one of it driving around also....?
Mike, A previous owner of the car when it was white/white is known to multiple parties reading & posting on this board. Furthermore, an image of the car in white/white guise has already been posted in this section, not too long ago. Best,
In fairness one could argue that red/tan is better than white/white (at least to some people) and the color-change is definitely not a points deduction at a show because red/tan is correct for period (1987). All the fuss is about knowing the FULL HISTORY of a car one is selling & asking top dollar. You cant give full disclosure if you don't even know the full history. Imagine the shock of a new owner who thought that red was the original color, pulling up at an event and having someone stroll up to them and say: "I remember that car when it was white"...
Speaking of car constantly coming back to the market http://suchen.mobile.de/auto-inserat/lamborghini-countach-bolligen/167261246.html?lang=en&pageNumber=1&__lp=2&scopeId=C&sortOption.sortBy=price.consumerGrossEuro&makeModelVariant1.makeId=14600&makeModelVariant1.modelId=2&makeModelVariant1.searchInFreetext=false&makeModelVariant2.searchInFreetext=false&makeModelVariant3.searchInFreetext=false&negativeFeatures=EXPORT Is that car in Switzerland now?? I recall it was on the market for a long time, history not that great. But now its a cool $160K!!! since we are picking details apprt on US car, take a look at that! Totally sale proof. Makes all US cars sold here a steal ! Also i noticed a flood of anniversary car on the euro market.
Bob from Atlanta wanted a red with tan interior downdraft car. When he found this particular downdraft in white he chose to do the color and interior changes. I myself like triple white, my wife prefers red with black. Needless to say I got the red with black Countach. Vic
Sorry, a pet peeve to pick. If referring to a Countach (presumably), what part would be the third in this "triple"? Triple is applicable to soft top cars. I also prefer a white/white Countach.
Yes, someone else informing you of your cars original color would be unpleasant for sure...i have seen things like that happen in fact at shows (concerning an accident though). Vic, you are a smart man. (did you get my text the other day?)
Awwww, pffft. What if a triple white convertible also had white wheels? I've never heard quadruple white used to describe....anything!
It pertains to the rim color.... IF the car is a convertible THEN it is assumed to be the top color. This is not anything new... are you in the States or live overseas?
States. In my entire life of 33 years, 90% of which has been auto-centric, this point had NEVER been explained to me. Never.
Yes, you are correct as in most cases when someone says triple whatever color, it refers to exterior, interior and top whether it be a vinyl or convertible top. However in the Countach world triple white is know to be a car with white exterior, interior and wheels.
