I finally got to meet Aaron at Concourso this year. Lastyear he was a big part of the Lamborghini show with his carb swap story. This year that same engine and carbs returned in their original Espada which was brought back from the dead by Bob Huber. We've been in email contact and on various forums for several years. It's interesting that he should mention the Ford Torino as one of the cars the Espada is mistaken for. I met one of the Ford design engineers along a roadside in Harmony NJ when I stopped to make some adjustments to the Webers. He pulled up and just had to see the car because while he was with the styling department at Ford they bought one, studied and admittedly stole some of the styling cues so the resemblance is no coincidence. He reminisced fondly about their taking the car out for lunch with four guys onboard. These cars really do get noticed a lot. I recently got my first speeding ticket in a lot of years escaping a pair of gawkers in PU tricks with cell phone cameras hanging outside their windows. It's downright dangerous at times. From my experience in owning the last 7 years it's usually mistaken for a Delorean. Go figure? Thanks for posting the video. I had not seen that one. Hopefully Aaron can do for the Espada's reputation what Marc Sonnery has done for the Khamsin's, another Gandini styling design.
Well this year Bertone was featured at Concourso and there were many fine examples to behold. Here are two that bear more than a slight resemblance. You may remember the pictures of this car in green earlier in this thread. A LOT of money has now been spent on this car. That's Darryl Adams' black series 1. Dear Phillipe, Thank you for all your help. Please accept the attached photo of the Espada reunited with some of its Italian brethren (after three decades of storage) as a token of my appreciation. If I remember correctly, another Iranian Espada was sold alongside the Miura SV-J in the same Geneva auction, which I think is now in Turkey. I also remember Joe Sackey mentioning that he had a photo of an Espada with the Shah in a fur coat next to it (post 89 of the Miura thread). Are there any other details of Iranian Espada's you could possibly share (if it is not an imposition) ? Warmest Wishes Ramin Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi All, Yes, I made it to Monterey...just in time. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zr74_V6rhyM[/ame] Robert Huber
Thank you Bob for these photos! Incredible how the Pirana is so close to the Espada in styling. Philippe 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com

Yeah, they seem to have vanished from the face of the earth, let's hope they didn't take their cars with them
I just made my first feeble attempt at creating a video and posting it to YouTube. Just after dawn at Concorso Italiano I took some detail shots of my Espada, then took similar shots of the Pirana. I linked them together to make a short visual comparison video. For some reason the video is not showing up on the YouYube search engine, but the url is: [ame]www.youtube.com/watch?v=iS5Lgi0Zvu4&feature=plcp[/ame] I'll be interested to see if you guys can get it to run.
This is a nice color on the Espada. I don't know what's up with those exhaust pipes though? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4LHik_uPBM&feature=player_embedded[/ame]
It runs fine but silent. That was intentional? It was really nice having your car and the Piranha next to each other Daryl.
Actually I had a sound track, "Flying" by the Beatles, but was told that was not smart from a copyright standpoint.
