I wonder if P1 is forcing a more extensive F70 redesign than we appreciate...

it seats 2, and Ferrari already has stated that it exceeds the Enzo CF tub in strength and less weight ...CF construction has come a long ways since the Enzo, and the F70 certainly exceeds it in quality of design

I guess that it´s too late for that.

And probably it wouldn´t be a good idea anyway: imitation and last minute fixes usually don´t bring any good.

Many would beg to differ. You look down on the V12, as if it were the worst thing in the automotive world. In truth it is the most wonderful. May I remind that the V10s in F1 were actually lighter than the current V8s. There is no guarantee that a TT V8 with its turbochargers, intercoolers etc, will be lighter than a N/A V12. In any case, it won't be as "colourful" and the power delivery of N/A engines is second to none in terms of linearity and high RPM outbreak! As I said before, let's wait and see what happens. So far it's Ferrari 1 - McLaren 0 (458 vs MP4) and Ron was saying the same things back then. :D

Well, in F1 there are a lot of regulation limits for engines now.

I suppose that it can be done, but at what cost? Ferrari is not going to build a brand new ultra high tech V12 and cut their profits just for a few hundred cars. I´ve read that they´re going to use something derived from the standard F12/FF engine.

On the other hand, weight is not everything. That Nissan GT-R is faster than many lighter cars with more hp. And let´s see how the Porsche goes.

I think the F70 will be like the F50 to the F40 in looks, same overall shape just more curvy.

True. But who said that the F12's new V12 isn't state of the art to begin with? Surely. it will also be fettled here and there. ;)

Mclaren is leading Ferrari in F1. The V12 is Luca vanity.

Yep, probably that engine is great and I think that the V12 is perfect for that kind of cars, but not for ALL cars.

When it fits in your agenda, suddenly F1 matters, eh? ;-)

The fat lady still has not sung. And don´t forget that McLaren has won once in the last 10 years.

Concerning future collectibilty which is about all that matters with these Hyper vanity cars like the Macca Pwhatever and the [F70] I think a normally aspirated V12 will be more desirable than a TT V-8

The Fat lady hasn't sung about 2012 F1 but personally I don't think the 2012 Ferrari F1 is up to McLaren or Red Bull. Alonzo is impressive.

Regarding the weight and speed around a track of the New Enzo vs the P12 she is about to sing.

Those who buy either will have made themselves happy so all is good.

So far the Macca F1 is leading that metric vs ANY Luca era Ferrari. Personally I don't see any of these becoming incredible investments. I own cars that have gone up 100X in 40 years. I don't see that happening with any of these modern cars and as you know great Art is a much better investment.

2420 Lb with V12 and KERS no I don't see that.

I see P12 at 2650 and the New Enzo at 2769Lb.

Either way the I still see the P12 have much more downforce and being faster on any race track.

That is true at the moment. But they both run V8s. Moreover, over the past 15 years, Ferrari has won 8 Constructors' Titles and McLaren... wait for it... 1!!! :D

100% with you on this one. This year's McLaren is the class of the field. The RB is not that impressive, but the Ferrari is even worse most of the times (apart from power circuits like Monza and Spa where the Ferrari V8 makes up for the deficit in aero).

1.6 litre single turbo V6s from 2014 onwards. Estimated power output is 650 hp, some 100 less than today's V8s.
