I am still interested in the curve of the sill of the tub. Would it suggest more of a pontoon styled front end? All other tubs I have seen tend to have a straight sill, but the F70 has a distinct banana.
Funny how many of the "major" internet auto websites haven't even reported on the tub yet. That's a win for Ferrarichat.
The F40 lapped faster see time attack Time attack F1 1:04,64 Time attack F40 1:03,95 see table on the video at 12.30. Cheers Luque
Mr Glickenhaus, Hat off about your racing activity. I think that in this forum any FXX or 599XX owner can confirm that slicks (Bridgestone / Michelin) developed for this special racing versions are more durable and less grippy than a real racing slicks. Bertolini lapped Fiorano 3 seconds faster only changing those bridgestone with pirelli slicks (the very same used in FIA-GT). The 599XX Curb Weight is 2888lbs is from the sales brochure (very optimistic as always...) Cheers Luque
Once again. The flag dropped. The Bull**** stopped and we were faster at the Ring than the Ferrari Factory. Your statement about tires remains silly. Tires that can go a full 9 lap stint at the Ring, which we set the record on, are very durable and of a much harder compound than "qualifying" tires. Qualifying tires at the Ring barely last one 16 mile lap and as you now have to start the race on the tires you qualify on aren't used there anymore. On October 27 if the weather is good and the traffic light we hope to go about 6 seconds faster on the NS than we did in our 24 Hour Qualifying about 6:45 on the NS.
As previusly mentioned the Ferrari 458 GTE (not GT3) went faster at that same qualifying, by qute a margin (that was before teh even faster 2012 version)... only reason there is no time for the NS section is because they didn't have telemetry. But it's not BS to state that the Ferrari 458 GTE (not GT3) on race tires (not qualy) is faster , as proven by the total lap time NS+NB...as well as the 24h position... Ferrari 458 GTE is the fastest GTE race car out there, proven by 24h Le Mans and the penning FIA WORLD ENDURANCE CHAMPIONSHIP (where it leads by 100+pts over Porsche 997 RSR, which is also a faster car then the P4/5comp)where it won every race it entered whiting it's class

Got to Love Bench Racing Fan Boys. There was no timing, the course was a different length, but it was proven. The Fact remains that the Ferrari factory decided to set a Ring record in a category that they made up. "Fastest Ring Time for a production based car". Ferrari could have brought a 458 GTE if they wanted as it fit the category they made up but they didn't. Even by their own made up category we beat them.
I simply dont care who is the fastest- Im simply writing you are comparing apples with tomatoes. And if you are not able to understand the differences between a racing slicks that have to last 150 - 200 km and a slicks for amateur driver that have to last ten time more, Im sorry for you. And before to mark as silly my statement read better what I mean, my written English is not so bad. Regards Luque
Was at the Mondial last night.... The P1: they are being "cautious" about what is in it! Would appear that the engine is a boosted version of the current 3.8 V8 coupled with electric motors that should give an equivalence of between 800 and 900 bhp. The brake discs are interesting as they have no cooling design on them and have a mirror like finish to them. Apparently they are not steel, not carbo-ceramic and were developed by Maclaren's F1 provider. Clearly a lot of effort put into aerodynamics which results in a bizarre looking car. The rear is extremely low (knee height) and the front and sides are best described as "tortured". Without wanting to be too much of a Ferrari fan(!) at 1M at piece, Ferrari don't have much to worry about. Ferrari F150: the chassis is really interesting. Uses some 6 types of different carbon and is just like an F1 car. The impression is that the car will be really quite small. The most impressive car at the show, though, was the new Range Rover!! Amazing! A real class act.
Rory - love all this guy's work. Real genius with a great attitude. Had the "honor" of being on the same flight back from a GP a long time ago. Image Unavailable, Please Login
2888.1lb vs 2950lb is math not written English. So is 800Hp vs 565Hp So is 6:58 vs 6:51 The idea that Michelin gave us better tires than The Ferrari Factory for their record attempt remains silly. The idea that Michein gave Porsche and Audi better tires than us for The 24 is fact.
Got to love the pose on Ron Dennis!!! He must be thinking how many times the cars designed by the guy in grey suit beat the crap out of his beloved macs......and thinking, not again!!
They are going to have to mess up in a big way to make something as hideous as the p12 the more pictures that are shown the worse it seems to look. It maybe quick but at the price being talked about at least make an attempt to make it look good. I am sure Rory will make sure this is another mac beater!
Honestly man, you should do some reading! The F50 had a 6 speed manual! The first Ferrari with carbon ceramic brake disks was the Enzo. The F60 is the 2009 F1 car.

If I may, what Luque is saying is that the FXX and 599XX cars are not on normal racing slicks but on very hard customer compounds that last much longer than racing slicks like the ones you used do. From what I know, he is right about that.
