Interesting a good possibility, I wonder if he sat down with Mr Brawn and had a bonding session, like looking for a replacement for old Ron D. Only time will tell.
I can't tell you how very disappointed I am about his move to Mercedes. I always though the was going to be part of Mclarens long term history. I don't think we will ever be told why he has decided to make the move. Jensen must be ecstatic at the news. Silly move Lewis IMO, Mclaren were his best bet for any dreams of multiple WCs. I hope he proves me wrong, but I won't hold my breath.
Live by the sword, then fall on it... Bad move for LH. When Rosberg out qualifies him, it'll be like LH-FA at McLaren all over again. Only LH will be the odd man out.
I just have a feeling Brawn will not let that happen, but how much say Brawn has with the Merc board is debatable.
....and MS is trying to driver for Sauber? All of us thinking MS should move on have been vindicated. A drivers worth is based on what team will hire him. Evidently banging wheels mid pack is now the theme of the comeback lol....sad.
OK, it´s finally setled, Ham to merc and Perez to mac....wich means Shumi is leaving for good. Hpe Mercedes is going to have a lousy couple of years ahead...and mac too . Good for Perez, he deserves a competitive car, i think he can mature at mac, and than, he can come to Ferrari to take the title, just like Kimi
A few weeks ago, EJ had Bernie on camera saying he (BE) would miss Michael. It looked like they just finished an off-camera conversation, so Eddie asked if Michael was retiring which put Bernie back on-guard saying he didn't know anything. Bernie knows everything going on, and Eddie got some inside info. That's my take.
Didn't think LH was going to do it at first but as time rolled on I thought that it might happen and it did. Perez is the big winner here. MB brilliant for signing lauda as an adviser and he will be helping hammy. This means massa is at Ferrari for at least another year unless schumey goes there which I doubt and massa gets the sauber seat.
It's kinda big surprise, but we're not in the team and don't know everything, still looks like a money move from where we stand. Well, I sure will enjoy see him struggle in middle pack for sure; and if the mercedes finally pick up some speed I'll be very angry they let Schumi go.
It will be interesting to see how MB develops now that they got a top driver and Lauda. I wouldn't be surprised if we suddenly see them move up in the WCC standings next year. It will be equally interesting to see what McLaren does. Probably not too much change for next year but fundamental paradigm shift in 2014 with a new engine. From whom? At any rate, I'll be happily cheering for Hami/Nico at Mercedes next year. Right after Alonso/Ferrari of course.
Wow I did not expect the news this quickly but atleast we now where Lewis is going and I am very happy for Perez. I am still wondering what Michael will do though, will he stay with Merc in some for or fashion or will he take Saubers offer for one last hurrah, ala Richard Petty style, which I honestly hope he does. The Sauber is fast and has moments of sheer brilliance and Michael could really help the team develope the chassis. Hell I am ready for 2013 already!!!!
Wait; now you're a Mercedes fan?? Wtf dude....we all your of your hatred of all things Schumi...youve trashed MB at every chance....lol....how about those Monza pics??
No worries, I won't become a MB fan. But I won't mind cheering for Nico or Hami. AFTER our guy of course. MB could still be another Ford/Jaguar (with Lauda "in charge"). Time will tell whether AMG F1 will truly become an independent team or remain a corporate dinosaur. Pics will come. Eventually. It's a very slow process to work through thousands of shots...
The move is a real leap of faith for Hamilton. Mercedes' dream team in Engineering didn't deliver this year... I suspect it will be more like when Hamilton regularly outqualifies 'Britney', we'll see why Rosberg wasn't the right guy to lead the new, improved Mercedes. I'd say it's Rosberg that will come off worse with the new teammate.
Yeah; I've always liked Lewis; hope he does well....the Lauda move is a head scratched....what is he going to do? His jaguar role was a compete failure....
Everyone said the same thing about Button. Hamilton's had the edge this year, but he sure hasn't put Button in the weeds like everyone predicted. Mark
