Bench racing or no, Fact remains, that the 458 GTE (v2010/v2012) beat and was faster then the P4/5 C every time they were at a race event, including the qualifying where the supposed fastest Ferrari engined whatever was set.

Fact is the 458 GTE v2012 is buttloads faster then the previous versions, and is the most economical/and fastest (base) GTE racecar there is...
Proven by the BoP in regards to it this year, where it was hampered down by 15kg, and has recently had it's fuel tank reduced by 5L... While every other race car in this class had their restrictors enlarged, weight taken out, Wings moved..to speed them up and make them competitive against the Ferrari 458 GTE

Up till now it has taken every race in it's class it has entered including the most famous, and coveted endurance race the 24h of Le Mans (GTE class)...

Another fact FIA WEC GTE and 24h Le Mans GTE >> VLN series and 24h-N

P.S. You tend to embellish the results by interpreting them in a manner in which your car comes on top. Consistent with manufacturer PR, which technically you are :), along with being the owner :D

You mean benetton?....actually, i´m not so sure about that, the last thing i think Brawn actualy designed was the jaguar xjr14 (wich was tyhe class of the field and earned him an invitation from benetton. I believe Rory was already there, and the mais designing part was always Rory responsability, not sure how much input Brawn made on the cars.

    No I mean Williams.

Brawn was hired by Sir Frank Williams in 1978 as a machinist for the newly formed Williams team. He quickly moved up through the ranks, working in the R&D department and as an aerodynamicist in the team's wind tunnel.

Brawn had very little to do with the cars when at Ferrari. That was Byrne's domain. ;)

I didn´t knew that, well in any case i can tell tell you that the xj14 was designed by him...not sure what he did at benetton, so that was probably his last car.

Even your Bench racing remains poor. The GP track has a very long straight. Cars with 30KPH higher VMAX on that straight are faster on the GP Track.

As an aside at the 24 we raced with 4 liters. On October 27 we're racing with 4.5 Liters.

Once again if any 458 GTE's show up, which they won't we'll be happy to time them on the NS.

Ferrari, not us chose the catogory that we beat them in.

Was the enzo not classified as the f60? and yes I already admitted my mistake with the f50 being manual. And yes the cs was released after the enzo upon further research. Again my bad. 2 hours of sleep plus being tired and bored is a bad combo for me. But I have started some brush up on my knowledge of the predecessors.

Yes clarkson is to blame for it being called the f60 so much. One episode he called it the f60 many times.

Having seen the Ferrari tub, seen the P1, I am more enthused now about what the f70 will turn out to be. Clearly they are throwing all their experience at this new car and now they can see what they are facing, they are under no doubt they have to deliver and in spades. I think we should be grateful for the P1 as it will certainly keep Ferrari right on the very tip of their Italian toes and they are unlikely to disappoint. In short everyone benefits.

Is there any way Ferrari would be showing this if Macca weren't having its intro?

They are so obsessed with the McL that they show a tub. OK, it is a cool tub, but the McL really set the bar high and they are feeling a little down--so they trot out a shiny tub.

True, but lets be fair, it was a pretty impressive offering, albeit just a tub but hardly embarrassing. At least they had something of that quality to show.

You didnt saw a real production model of the mclaren p1....It will take lots of months(if not years) until mclaren P1 will be sold....

Mclaren didnt sell the first mp4-12c 2 years or so after the first 458 were in customers houses.

Huge downforce, its only good for track days.

Supercars are about feel, looks, sound, soul and beauty.....Ferrari will outclass mclaren in every one of these.....Pagani also ......Huayra is a masterpiece as far as craftsmanship and mechanical beauty. I looked at the gearbox lever mechanism alone more than i looked at Mc P1.....

Let's make a bet . . . I'll take McL. The bet is this . . . which company will have a car in the hands of customers first, McL or Ferrari F 70?

    How about $100?

BINGO! You nailed it. Many people can build a 6:50 car. But very few can build what one expects in a supercar, and still meet all the government regulations.

Let me state something for the record. Paganis are amazing and wonderful cars. Not taking anything away from them.

By most accounts less than 225 Pagani's have been built since 1999. McL is expected to build at least 500 of the new hypercars.

Many people can build a 6:50 car, you say. I think McL is the only one to build 500 of them.

Why so much disrespect for McLaren? You don't have to hate McLaren to love Ferrari.
