Half off Ferrari Scuderia Watches

I got a call in regard to same from fedex this AM - at Memphis hub and they couldn't determine the number of watches in the shipment from Ferrari's goofy invoice. I called fedex back and talked to a nice rep. She told me it was a customs matter and that it's now straightened out.

 

So, I ordered a second one, not sure which I'll like more. Anyone know the return process for the one i dont want?? There is no info on that on their website.

 

Thanks and good to know. Did they figure it out on their own or was your call the thing that straightened it out? Wonder if I should call them, they did not call me.

I got mine today no problem. It was good to wake up and see that it was in Dallas and not in France.
I'm impressed with fedex. It got here a week early almost. That's not something I'd expect with an international order.

My only complaint is the whole chronograph set up. A 12hr timer and not a millisecond one? I thought the would've done that. Also the second hand is in the right dial and the big yellow hand is the chrono second hand. It'll take a little getting used to but its not really a problem

The strap took a few minutes to figure out but I like now.

I paused the yellow hand at 54sec so I could admire the shield

The box was a major plus!

Aparently I spoke too soon - my fedex link shows it still on hold in Memphis TN. I'll be calling them back.

 

ha, ha, ha.... Yes, and please send your bank account number, credit card number, along with the 3 digit pin on the back. Your home address, email address, social security number..... Then I can proceed with asking my collegues to send you the check for $50 million that is locked up in a secret account in Nigeria.....

 

I talked to Fedex this afternoon and they said that customs requested additional information from the shipper, and the shipper provided the information, and they were waiting on customs to either release the shipment or ask again for more information. The nice Fedex lady said that if the info provided was accepted then the package should be back in motion within a day. They said they would call me if they needed any information from me.

TheDuke - that is a very common chrono configuration. I have more than a dozen different chronos and on every one of them the "big" second hand is the whole second counter for the chronograph, with the running seconds always on one of the sub-dials.

 

I hope you know US Customs needs to know the value of the item and then pass a Bill to FedEx so they can collect from you !!
Get ready to pay an extra $75 to 125 usd since you are are importing from Europe.

Mine looks to be back on...I just went to the fedex page and it now shows cleared and out for delivery.

 

I just looked and mine has been released from customs.

I doubt that Fedex wants duty money from me - the shipment says indirect signature required, which means anyone at the address can sign for it or I can leave a note for them to leave it without anyone signing for it. Fedex didn't say any duty would be due when I talked to them on the phone.

 

Jeff - same here.

The fedex rep told me that a live person needs to be present for delivery or leave a note, or it would go back to their warehouse for pickup. Nothing about additional amounts due.

 

Guess we'll find out soon enough

 

When I've ordered stuff from Classic Alfa in England, I've never had to be home to receive it. I always get bill from Fed Ex for the customs charge. I assume this is the same...

 

Yep. supposedly Monday on mine but midweek more realistic.

I've ordered from Superformance in the UK a couple of times and never got a customs bill.

 

Interesting... I guess we'll all see soon enough.....

Does anybody know anything about replacing the battery? Can a local watch guy do it? I'm not having problems, just thinking ahead

 

Its a quartz watch, just had my battery replaced at jeweler for $10...

My fedex report is from Memphis and it says clearance delay...hopefully it clears soon!

VAT is not applicable to US sales, we don't have a VAT so it's exempt. However you may or may not receive a bill from Fedex for US Customs duties and Fedex customs broker charges. Sometimes the bill (if you get one) doesn't come for monts after the package was delivered. It's possible that the Ferrari Store is paying the duty, check on the airbill, it should have a checkbox for who is responsible for the charges. Or the shipment might somehow be classified in a category where there is no duty payable.

I have a Ferrari Pit Crew watch and I replaced the battery myself. Anyplace that replaces watch batteries should be able to do it.

When I talked to Fedex on Friday about the clearance delay they said if it cleared that day (which it did) then it should be delivered Monday. Then they said, oops, looks like it's scheduled for Thursday. Why it would take that long to get to WI from TN baffles me, usually when a Fedex shipment to me hits Memphis it arrives the next day.
