McLaren tried to renew him - they offered him the highest paying contract for any F1 driver ever, and *he* turned it down to move to Mercedes.

You said "fire the bum", and that he will not be renewed, and he sees the writing on the wall and knows he's done at McLaren.

I do not remember reading anything about McLarens offer regarding total compensation or for how long, what were those numbers even though it is all for naught now it seem's.

 

What was that chick's name that quit Cheers after one season? Something about doing movies and making millions.... How did that work out for her?
