It's not a FIA World Championship..it's the FIA Alternative Energies CUP

While FIA WEC is a world championship as the name suggests, FIA World Endurance Championship

Ferrari, unlike McLaren hasn't finished First overall at Le Mans for 47 Years and the Ferrari that did in 1965 was heavily modified by a Privateer.

How you can think you know anything about how a car drives or that for example that the "air Bridge" on the F12 accomplishes anything without driving one remains beyond me.

Everything you've posted about for example the 458 being a better car than the MP4 and how much better the F12 is than any McLaren is based on what you've read in magazines?

The FIA Alternate Energies Cup is very clearly listed under "Championships" on the FIA website.

Perhaps they're wrong and you're right.

At the end of the day this is a thread about the Ferrari "F70". Not the McLaren P1, not Ferrari 4/5C, not about someone complaining that the factory did not support him. Enzo did not complain BTW--he went on and start beating them in their own game. Do not get me wrong--everyone is free to cry, complain and share their pain, but lately every section of the forum I open , all I read is about P4/5C , Ring times or McLaren P1. Come on guys, let's stick with the subject. Wasn't there a McLaren thread somewhere?! And I am pretty sure there was a P 4/5 C thread in the racing section. I understand that mentioning your own creation is very important to you and it will increase the Google search results, but let's try to keep the forum clean and organized. After all this is all about Ferrari and there is plenty of room here for everyone's ego....
Bringing McLaren P1 everytime and claiming it is a superior car in comparison to F70 only because you are angry at the factory???!! really--the F70 is not even out yet???!!
And BTW--no, I am not currently subscribed, I was in the past and I will be, but unless this discussion is in a private forum--I do not see what does this has anything to do with the price of tea in China.

    Dear Jim,

Of course you are right. Then again Ferrari is not interested in the LMP1. Why should they really when they compete in F1? After all F1>LMP1. ;)

I for one would like to see Ferrari make a decent return to sports car racing, mainly because to me sports car racing is perhaps a bit more relevant than F1 is in some respects.

There is no doubt F1 has brought benefits to road cars but I cant help but wonder what benefits sports car racing would bring...though if I had any say there would be a ban on anything diesel!

While I don't agree that F1>LMP1 I do agree that Engineering Excellence is key to winning the F1 Manufactures Cup. ;)

I am not sure which comparison you are trying to make here. When was the last time the factory entered a car? 1970?

Anyone who actually did get to drive a F12, say the car is nothing short of spectacular. I have no reason to doubt what they are saying. If the aerobridge really works or not I don't know, but still I think it is a clever design.

And you have to say there is both logic to how it functions and also rest assured it would not feature if it did not function.

Grand Am/Alms, GT3, GTE, still race petrol cars but at Le Mans, first overall, lMP1 is likely to be dominated by diesels. The 2014 LMP1 rules may change that and Porsche will compete there in 2014 with a Petrol/KERS hybrid with a drive train similar to the 918's.
The McLaren P12 drive train could also work in 2014 but the New Enzo's as it's a V12 couldn't.

The 918, P12 and the New Enzo could all race in the class we do EXP2 Hybrid and compete for the FIA Alternate Energy Cup and at The 24 Hours of Nurburgring and other 24's next year such as SPA. It will be interesting to see if any of the new hypercars do.

I agree that racing makes better road cars and Ferrari's success with the 458GTE will surely help the road 458's.

Like it or not dear friend, Formula 1 is the highest technology demonstration on four wheels. The budget of a single F1 team is enough to fund the whole Le Mans Championship.

We have an agreement on the second statement of yours though. IMHO McLaren should win the 2012 Constructors' Title on merit, even though I would hate that to happen as they should endure Ferrari's 16 years of drought first! This way noone can blame Ferrari again for being lame. :D

Will indeed be interesting to see! Notwithstanding the various comparisons this is an interesting time for the supercar, so many alternatives. Seeing as some comparison is going on here, whats your view on Pagani The Huarya, seems to resemble the Faberge egg of the supercar world

I think that the Huayra is slower than the F12, let alone the hypercars. Just a gut feeling. Let's wait and see.

Agreed with everything you said but apparently my opinion is irrelevant because Im not subscribe, don't have enough post and don't own a Ferrari.

Also, the next Enzo or F70 needs a new thread because this one is getting way out of hand.

Do you really like that bug-like exterior style? As for the interior, it is borderline kitch. When I sat in a Zonda I said the exact same thing...

The Huayra have just destroyed the lap record of Vairano (Italian magazine Quattroruote test track) .....

Not at all! I hold your opinion in the same esteem as that of Mr Glickenhaus, whom unfrotunately I do not know in person and that of Jigger, whom I do. Personally I hate segregation. ;)

Really? This is very interesting. Thank you for the info. Let's wait for the F12 lap though. :)

PS: Was that Pagani on stock tyres and engine mapping?

Each to his own, I have seen a Zonda F Roadster down here and to me its a piece of road art, simply stunning!

I like the Huarya, its different and interior is just so different and bespoke it would to me be quite a special place to spend time.

Apparently we do not share the same taste old chap. This is a good thing though, as we would never quarrel over a lady if we ever went out for a pint or ten. ;)
