Not named Periscopa, but the general idea that Lamborghini may have employed for rearward visibility was already in use on Ferrari's 512 S. Of course, race cars are not subject to transportation authority mandates so mirrors can be mounted wherever optimum rearward visibility is afforded. Anyone know the part number for the Brake light electro/hydraulic switch that sits under the floor and activates the brake lights? Cant seem to find the part! Is it common to other models? If so which ones? Cross ref part numbers? Thanks Paul

Thanks Mike Eurosport and factory dont have any. It is a common part though! Did some checking after found none in stock. Intermotor part ref: 51600 It was fitted to numerous cars including Alfa, 1750 B; GTV; Spider;GT Junior etc I ordered one from my local motor factor and will be there tomorrow! Paul
Agreed, with race cars all kinds of strange stalks & appendages sprout up wherever convenient in the name of function. I'm not sure even the original LP500 had the periscope system fully functional.

The last set of numbers of the DOT is the date. The first numbers are the week of the year. The last number is the year of the decade. The 9th year of the decade = 1979 or 1989. Being 225's, the 9th year of 1980, which is 1989.
From 86-89? Are they readily available or something? The ct crowd doesn't seem all that excited to see these?
I appreciate I have different views on car usage than some. But why would anyone want to put 23 year old tyres on a car? In particular when the claimed life of these tyres is 5 years? And they are possibly 3 evolutions of the tyres behind and made of compounds that may be 5 behind? Would any of you risk doing 100mph on them? I appreciate that if tyres are properly stored their life span can be considerably increased. But 23 years? Tin helmet and flak jacket on! Incoming expected! Paul x
That's funny. I remember asking that same question, when they went to 225. A few said when they went to high body cars. I guess I better clean my glasses if I read it wrong..
Paul, Some, like myself, like a spare set for show or to keep with the car for originality. Or for rolling around at 20mph. I would hope by now that all the guys on here understand what we've been stressing for many years......you can not drive on P7's.
205 series through to end of LP500S, 225s for the QV. Just goes to show how much misinformation is bandied about.

Can anyone tell me when Pirelli stopped making the 205 P-7's? And/or when the P-zero was introduced? I have seen a 205 P-7 from 1994.
The P-Zero was introduced first with the F40 back in 1987. I am not sure though when the P7 was discontinued and when the P-Zero began to be available outside of the F40 sizes.
Looking at the auction a 2nd time, I was able to zoom in on the production date. The date would be 123 followed by a triangle. This mean the 12th week of 1994. Triangle symbol = the 1990's By far way too expensive at any date. I think I paid about $500 or so for my set of 4 that are from the correct period. 78 rears/low 80's front.
