Resident Evil 6 : Anyone picking it up?

Im going to pick it up tonight or tomorrow. Apparently it's back to basics and i cant wait.

 

I think the series has lost it's edge, I haven't played it since the the early 2000's.

 

The last one wasnt that bad..but this one is supposed to be a reboot.

 

Very cool, they really went far this time. More intense/interactive gameplay. I dont want to spoil it, check it out!!

It's a letdown for me - a departure from the spooky, tense, & atmospheric survival horror formula that RE invented. This one plays like Uncharted, an action oriented game where "horror" is served up front, eliminating that delicious sense of foreboding that you got playing the original RE or RE4.

 

That's what my friend said also. Im disappointed.

 

Yeah guys didn't you hear that Capcom changed their name to CRAPCOM recently.

 

I've never been interested in the Resident Evil series before this post. I read the reviews on 6 and basically passed. However, I read good things about 5 so I downloaded that via Xbox Live instead.

Firstly, I like the just the overall look of the game (polished graphics, very creepily detailed environment)(oh, and Sheva). However, the most intriguing thing about it is that it is extremely similar to a screenplay that I wrote back in college. Not suggesting they took my stuff, but noting that their scriptwriter is aware of some...stuff.

 

Man 4 and 5 where epic...this one so far is a let down

 

I just played this tonight and gave up on it after about 30 min. Way too many pointless quick time events, then a cut scene ever 3 steps. The PC controls were terrible. I've been a big RE fan but this was horrid.

 

This pretty embarrassing to say, but I never could get through the opening town sequence in RE4. I got so damn pissed off that I gave up. I would've liked playing through it though.
