I seriously doubt that mate. Ferrari have stated officially that RWD is the better option for a sports car and the the AWD option was only developed for use under inclement weather. Hence, the presentation of the car in the snow.
This hasn't stopped Ferrari in the past. Love the 918. A nice, clean shape that doesn't have a lot of the BS creases and lines and add ons and... A good design is a simple design. -F
Correct. The F430 is not really pink; it's a (horrible) photoshop job. The nose on the F1 car is from Ferrari, but go look at the other teams' cars and you'll see Ferrari is not the only one. Function > Form in that case... The last photo of the 599 is an example of a 599 tuned by the aftermarket tuning company "Hamann." I think it's hideous, TBH. -Gil
The lap times around Fiorano that the mules are turning are very impressive and the car is much prettier (IMO) than the P1. To me this car is just as much a leap forward as the Enzo was over the F50. Do we really need 3 more F150 threads?
I don't see it as permanent 4wd but rather a mechanism that kicks in for quick accelerations or correction when the car could go out of control. (And of course there will be switch somewhere on the steering wheel where one could turn it off)
1 thread would be sufficient. I LOVE reading about the progress and guesses, but it is really annoying when its polluted by all the McLaren crap. Keep that in the British forum.
Any idea what lap times are being achieved on comparative levels to the Enzo? No doubt it will look better than the P1, like many of us i can't wait. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Please can we try and limit the F70 threads. I see yet another started which contained information that could easily have been posted here. Gets tiresome jumping between three threads and the idea here was to keep this distinctly on topic.
Agreed, but at least we are trying to stay more on topic. Maybe it should be re titled THE F70 thread and ONLY the F70 thread if there was a way to do so.
I am pretty sure he meant the opening that IS right in the middle and NOT the one for the steering. The one in the middle however ( that starts right where the red circle in the above picture ends)...

I love the design too but it weighs 3800 lbs. Think about that. That's your 328 plus another 1/3 of another one. I know that the power offsets it but with handling and braking, it has to feel like something totally different than a 2800 lb car with 500 hp. I don't know if I would use "porky" but it can't feel nimble.
I find the 918 too antiquated! Reminds me of the F50, which was great back in 1995, but this is 2012!
I Actually agree. No need for a drive shaft, also cause in that case the hole would have been covered at the front. If Ferrari want torque vectoring they can actually do all electrically, using an electric drive to the front wheels a la 918, replicating 4rm advantages but without the need for heavy shaft and second gearbox. It could actually be argued that this is the best use of a Kers system, where it can offset its weight disadvantage to become a simpler solution. I remember Ferrari developed 4rm for the quattroporte, only to leave it aside for the negligible amount of power the car has anyway. The ff takes advantage of it but results heavy and is in a completely different category. I think an intermittent awd on the f70 would be its best use yet and would explain the rather bulky boxy part at the front of the tub, when compared to enzo. Image Unavailable, Please Login
