When did you buy your P7's? I think the collectible items on these cars are appreciating as the cars are.
+1 I would be expecting far far more than $500. for even one, let alone an entire set?? These are rare new like this. I picked up this amazing set for an entirely different car (a one off car that really should have snagged these as the entire set is exactly as these was when manufactured) and the interested party bailed at the last minute. I was gonna 'broker' the deal and ended up with the tires and they weren't cheap. Not sure exactly how to negotiate them now, but big bucks offers for 'em will make that decision easy They are really nice They are part of a comprehensive wheel and tire inventory I have now for DeTomaso Pantera's and Mangusta's...and of course fronts of late 80's Countachs. I am finding original and NOS TIRES to be a whole new world for 'show' restoration seekers. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Guys, I bought my set in 2010 from Marcel. There are many sets out there. Many members have them and a few have offered to me. I'm just not sure people would pay big for them......maybe not just yet(?) No on has bought Bobileff's at the buy it now price. Most of the owners just want tires that can be put on the car and driven. Then you have the few, like myself, that want to save my Bravos and put P7's on them. I still want a set of Bravo replicas from Eurospare to put on the car. BUT, not all owner are nuts like me
Guys, I'm sorry. I just went back into my emails from Marcel. I paid 600 euros, which now is about $775, back then was a little less. That included shipping to the US.
Hi Pete, that price sounds about right back then. I was going to mess with you yesterday but was not sure how it would read. I did not want it to come off insulting, just funny. I was going to say if we are going to use yesterday's prices on purchasing Countach items today let me buy that old clunker off you for $125k. LOL. ; )
aaaaaaah, ok gang up on the S1 owner lol Maybe the tires have doubled or tripled in 2 years I would have taken that 125k.......if you offered it yesterday. But today is a whole 'nuther day.
I had a friend post these photos, had never seen them before, should be from 1972 in Monaco. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
No not a Bob, but came from a guy called Morten! You can see some more on his site, there were a number of other very nice cars at the event in Monaco: www.motorretro.com/2012/10/hvorfor-jeg-foretraekker-halvfjerdserne-frem-for-firserne.html Its all in Danish however!
That's the reason why Ferrucio didn't order more Miura SV's from bertone, well I think he didn't expect that the countach needs till 1974 to go into production.
Here is the short interview that I had with Dave Bowman from LOKAR TV at Griots Garage last month. "Yours Truly" appears at the 14:15 mark: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHi1YiZRYy4&list=UU9usFPNSQnQbaH1lLedooYA&index=2&feature=plcp[/ame] Mike
Not trying to make this a tire thread, but when did the P7's w/ the raised lettering get replaced? My '86 has a set of the raised letter tires (225 up front however)...was this just a flash in the pan?
Thanks for sharing Mike. Your car looks great! I see what you mean regarding cooling. Venting is poor at best on that deck lid. Larry
Very nice car Mike, I did not know that the early QV Injected cars had a different engine cover than the later ones. Did you remove the factory US bumpers or did you buy the car like that ?
Yep, I think it was less than 10 cars after mine they switched the engine cover to better ventilated model. It really lets the hot air out better than mine! The previous owner of my car was the person who removed the ugly front USA bumper (he actually shipped it to me along with the car. Its up in my rafters collecting dust! LOL!) He did leave on the 4 toaster bumperette's at the rear and I have chosen to leave them on, since if I removed the outer ones, you have 2 big gaping holes in the body that have to be plugged. Mike
This thread has dissected every part of the Countach and this is a good thing, so now we are on tires, so be it Don't know the answer to your question, sorry.
These are my original tires. Would like to know more about them especially whether these are age appropriate for my car which is an '86. I see the Centauro's mentioned and not sure if these supersede the P7r? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just a cost effective option (less than $20) if you want to remove the toasters. I am having my holes welded shut in a month or two along with installing the euro tail lamps. Screen from Lowes, door edge mouldings from local auto parts store, Satin black spray paint Great video!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
