    As some or most of you know, I moved to North Alabama several months ago. The grill farm is setup and I've been doing some cooking.

    This is sort of a mini comp in the little town I now reside in.

    Two catagories: Ribs and Chicken. Gonna do muffin pan chicken thighs and my world famous ribs.

    I have never heard of muffin pan chicken thighs. Looks like a cool trick. Might try it next night off.

    For good luck here's a few pics from a phenomenal restaurant I ate at this week in Waterloo IA.
    D+K Hickory House: same building, same family owners, and same slow smoked rib recipe for 60 years.
    This was the $13 "mini" rib dinner. After the complimentary pickled veggie plate, salad with house garlic dressing and this (plus a couple $3.50 whiskey sours) I was STUFFED. Potato was deep fried then baked, maybe the best BP I've ever had.

    Thanks for all the well wishes. I fly back from Vermont this Thursday and prepare Friday. Competition is Sat.

    Did I mentioned that my Mother planned her 80th birthday at my house this weekend and invited a ton of people?

    No pressure. Have to fly back to Vermont Monday.

    Results: Tied for first in chicken taste, but was beat on appearance. Mid pack on ribs.

    Overall, finished 7th out of 30.
