Funny, he talks about how rare the motor is with the down draft crabs but fails to show any pictures of the motor ???? Also, the 5000 emblem on the rear bumper looks rusted or oxidized. Maybe from sitting in a barn in Canada at -20.

They should crash about 550 of them, maybe then they would become somewhat desirable ? Thank you Chrysler for taking an iconic Italian Sports Car and transforming it into a whore with cheap lipstick and makeup along with exploiting the 25th Anniversary of the company purely for the $$$$$$$$$.

Although I don't like the look of the 25th at all, it's really sad to read such a comment in the Countach thread.

You should immediately be banned for blasphemy :)

What would you say if a LP400 owner would state that all post 1977 cars should be crashed because bla bla bla? Not my opinion BTW.

Lol. I would submit that a used car built in 1989/90 yet still fetches six-figures in 2012 is 'somewhat desirable.'

true, the anniversary car was cleaned up in many ways (i'm the expert many here are) but they cleaned up the engine bay, the seats were very nice, not everyone likes the bodywork changes, but they were at least an attempt to look more harmonious, and the wheels were of the period (3 piece)

Obviously I was joking about crashing the cars "calm down Anni owners". My point was that I feel Chrysler did a bad job with the changes they made with that car and I think that is reflected by the prices they sell for. If you take ANY other year Countach in the same condition, color and miles and put it next to an Anniversary car the Anni car has always and will always sell for less. If the changes they made were so great then why is that model the least desirable one ever made ? Or is it because they made so many and it's just a supply and demand thing ?

I did not see the car. I am half joking for 2 reasons. I am not a fan of those rockers or any other than original rockers. And, also of course, bumpers.
Secondly, more than half the people on here, no matter how clean the car is, will send it out for work.

I did not even notice the rockers when I looked at it, what a shame. Although based upon the current bidding it looks as if it will sell unless those bids are just shill bids. How can he claim all original with no paint work when the front bumper is obviously painted and aftermarket rockers drilled into the body and painted ?

At this point if someone is serious about a carb car, this is as good as you'll get it at this time. one onwer DD are not coming up often. The rockers etc can be taken care of easily. The most important is that the engine is sound.

I emailed the seller for engine picts and the build date on the door jam. that is why he added that.

Several DD cars in Canada or the US around this vin # seem to have what appears to be the "arabian" air box. I think its a better one (sealed for sand?)) albeit ugly.

IMO that car will sell if the seller drop his reserve. Given the body work required to make it look euro, I'll take the $185K if i would be serious selling. The $200K may depend what kind of engine work was done lately.

I would totally agree with this. (barring any hidden issues)
This particular car will probably sell soon - and in hindsight down the road - will likely represent a great value.
