well, as domenicali said "not excuses" ....be sure that all of Ferrari and LcM are painfully well aware how they are behind the curve, as we all are!

I was so disgusted that I quit recording/watching the race after the half way point just to save tape.

I have only had about 2hrs sleep in the past two days so let me get back to you on my reasons for being disgusted, oh tay?

Yes I still use tape as it has never let me down in almost 35yrs of recording F1 races and frankly that question is getting a tad old, sour, long in the tooth, stale, sad, etc etc.

That's prettt much right, no gray areas whatsoever here today. Massa is infinitely superior here........ at least that's what the 'record books' will say right. Or better yet as Rob would say, "those are the (Rob's) facts".

It aired live at 12:30am this morning and usually the replay is a few days later but with Korea next weekend the scheduling is off.

Err, the race has been over for a few hours now. Your best bet is to avoid waiting for a replay and look for a torrent of the race

    google Formula1.2012.Japanese.Grand.Prix.720p.HDTV.x264-FAIRPLAY

I know! I searched the schedule for you and found nothing BUT that does not mean the race will not be replayed. With cable schedules what they say is not always what you get.

Felipe Massa: “It was a fantastic race! Being back on the podium after almost two years away is just great and I feel really uplifted. They have been two tough years for me and, sometimes, a million things go through your mind, some of them bad, but finally I can be happy! It’s an important result psychologically and also in terms of my future, at least I think so! It’s even better getting back on the podium here, at a track I like so much and that I have known since the start of my career. Sometimes, in the hardest moments the best things come: the first people I want to thank right now are my family, my wife and my son. This race motivates me even more for the rest of the season. I feel very sorry for Fernando, because I’m convinced that today we could have both been on the podium. After what happened yesterday in Q2, I was definitely not starting from a good position. I got a good start and managed to get through the chaos at the first corner unscathed and then I immediately felt I had a good pace and that I could keep close to Button and Kobayashi. I got past them at the pit stop thanks to a great strategy and immediately I realised that, even on the Hard, my pace was competitive. The team did a great job and provided me with a competitive car: the only difficult moment of the weekend, for which we still don’t have a reason, was the damned second run in Q2... Now we must focus immediately on the race in Korea, because with five races left to go, anything is still possible.”

    Per Alonso"

"Today, we were very unlucky (WAIT, LUCK on F1????? I thought that did not exist Fernando, do mine eyes deceiveth me??)."

BUT wait there's more: "Unfortunately, when you start in the middle of the pack, these things can happen, because apart from the performance of the car = and ours is usually better for Sunday- circumstance can count for a lot. (WAIT WAIT just a cotton pickin minute there Fernando, CIRCUMSTANCE and F1?? according to some people on a Ferrari forum they don't exist??? do mine eyes continue to deceiveth me????? I'm confused, someone 'splain this to me. oh wait luck and circumstance DO exist after all)

and more: "What happened to us today could happen to the others next time: the wheel turns and that is what races are all about" (I don't know Fernando, people say LUCK and circumstance -good heavens no say it ain't so- just don't exist in F1 so I'm just not sure if I can buy into your extremely convincing and sensibly testimony)

There was never any magic in the F2012. Alonso's lead in the championship was mainly capitalizing on others mistakes and misfortunes. The chances of maintaining that lead to become champion were very slim to begin with.

The troublesome aspect here to me is that they can't figure out the weaknesses of this car and as such does not bode well for next year's either. As for their lack of a functional/accurate wind tunnel that is just pure stupidity on ferrari's part. Wankers. I said on the Japan qualifying thread that after Korea Alonso wasn't going to be leading the wdc....

You are 100% correct sir. It was one fortunate circumstance after another. His luck had to run out some time and now it's all over for his WDC. Not with how RB8 and Mp4-27 go. The single advantage Ferrari have over both is reliability.

Alonzo can lead the championship pull out 3 win and some great drive with a reliable slower car plus rivals that falter is the magic here.

But things gone bad since mid season break, taken out by accidents while mclaren and redbull upped their game but ferrari not just sums up how level this season is. Everyone got their up and downs but the end whoever got the edge improving the car will take this championship.

    Koba outqualifies Perez routinely.
A few lucky strategic decisions and tyre sweet spots does not a good driver make. Perez for Hamilton is a serious downgrade for Mclaren.

Yeh, I do admire Vettel pushing hard when he doesn't need to, the lad is a speed freak.

But that finger thing really does piss me off.
