Ok, I know there are a lot of post on stereo upgrades. I have the standard stereo systen in my spider? I hate the sound but I like the look of the standard system and the hi-fi system. i would like to keep the original looks. However I'm trying to find a way to upgrade it and keep the original stereo (Becker unit). 1 Is it possible to upgrade using the original standard Becker unit. Ideally, I would like to increase the clarity/power with a external amp, different speakers, etc . I would even add the between the seats speakers the the Hi-Fi unit has. 2 Or maybe even upgrading to the hi Fi complete unit itself. Looking for suggestions to upgrade and stay with original look. If I have to should I upgrade to the original hi-Fi. How is the sound compared to original And where can I purchase these items
I recently bought a Becker Gran Prix. It's got the iPod cable and Bluetooth. These look identical to the factory unit and use the same wiring harness, but they are awesome sounding units. I had to search for ages but found one on eBay.de. I can get the sellers details if you like? It cost me 450.
For that price, most aftermarket unit offer more option and even better sound if you have the speakers to keep up
Some of the pioneers (the real high end) are VERY minimal looking anyone had any issues with swapping out the stock stereo (like problems with system checks or anything?) Im planning on a Pioneer with flip up nav screen since i need a nav
Speakers depends on how much you want to spend ? the more you spend the better the sound. If you have the tweeters on door near mirrors then you must use components . many people use Focals
I'm not wasting money on speakers, and used the factory ones. Sorry but I have been down this road of trying to get an awesome sound in my P cars, and at a stand still they sound awesome, start the engine and it sounds average. The 360 is probably the same. I just wanted Blutooth, iPhone connection and a factory look. Becker gave me this.
