Doesn't make sense to me. My iPhone is perfect when I'm on the go. My iPad is perfect on the couch or on an airplane. No need or desire for anything in between.

I was given a 7" Samsung galaxy tab 2 free with a recent Samsung tv I bought, ( think they made too many and were not as popular as expected ). So gave it to kids who are amazing on iPhones and iPads ( aged 2 & 4, playing on preschool apps and drawing ), but found the Samsung a different experience and fight to get ipad or phone not Samsung.

So if they are bringing out the mini I know how to have a peaceful Christmas this year. And I think this apples thinking too a more affordable tablet just so it gives customers the option, and they don't lose a customer.

Agreed. I was actually in the market for an iPad when I found this out. I think I'll go for this one and save some money. Plus, the smaller size means it will be easier for people to hold....and with one hand too.

The latest rumor that has leaked states that the Mini will be Wi-Fi only, just like it's competitors, the Nexus and Kindle Fire. Other rumors are stating that it will have a 7.85 inch screen with an aluminum back cover. It's also expected to contain the new docking system that was introduced with the iPhone 5.

However, no reports of invites going out yet.

I use a Google Nexus 7. Right size, right price, right apps.

I have an ipad Mini and its great. Regular iPad doesnt fit my pocket and that was the deciding factor for me.

I always thought the iPad was a little too big. My mom got a mini when they were released and I think it's perfectly sized.

Hmmm, I prefer the bigger one for the aviation apps. You get to see more in one glance, in a bigger size.

I do appreciate the advantages of the smaller one too, but I think the competition is better priced and better value.
