Ferraris and Friends 2012

It's that time again! Ferraris and Friends 2012 happening October 5,6,7 2012. We have some really cool stuff on tap. Here is the breakdown of events:

Ferraris and Friends is a private weekend long celebration of special cars and the owners who are crazy about them! Ferrari is the featured marque, but will involve multiple car clubs/groups and anyone with a unique/special vehicle. This year we will be featuring a very special vehicle called the "Futurliner"
The weekend will evolve as follows:

Friday
Champagne Reception at Sycamore Hills Country Club
Entered cars will be parked strategically on the course for photo op. Heavy Hors d'ouvres and cash bar at the club.
Entertainment TBD

Saturday
LOCATION: Artisans Rods and Classics
Tech Sessions:
Multiple Drives throughout NE Indiana
Detailing Session
Evening dinner and live music at Artisans Rods & Classics

Sunday
Morning drive
Coffee & Cars at DeBrand Fine Chocolate.

On the Ferrari Front, we had between 40 and 50 Ferraris in attendance last year and are planning on more this year.

If you happen to be a Corvette fan, you will NOT want to miss this event. We are planning on a significant number of Corvettes with the goal of a historic gathering. Of note, the GM Futureliner is one of the ways that GM introduced the 1953 Corvette. Won't want to miss a '53 Vette sitting with a beautifully restored Futurliner!!! there

Friday October 5th: *4pm-10pm
*
​Champagne Reception, Sycamore Hills Golf Club. MAP: Here
Ferraris will be displayed on the 1st Fairway “Pebble Beach” Style. * Friends of Ferraris will be proudly displayed around the beautiful grounds of SHCC.*
*If you are bringing a vehicle for the Friday reception, please plan to arrive between 2:30pm and 3:30pm to position your car on the fairway.
*Dress is “resort casual to formal” depending on your taste. *NO denim please. *
4pm-7pm- Ferraris and Friends on display. *Champange, light hors d’ouvres.
7pm-10pm- Heather Herron- WANE TV, Introduction of Sponsors, followed by Live Auction. A list of Auction items can be seen on our website- http://www.ferrarisandfriends.com/LiveAuctionItems.aspx
The evening’s events will include an opportunity to walk the grounds of SHCC to view the cars and the course, heavy hors d’ouvres, cash bar, a jazz band, guest speakers.

Saturday October 6th: *9:00am -10pm (or longer if people are still standing!)

9:30am- FIRST DRIVE leaves Artisans and will last approx 1.5 hrs. *(Please be ready to depart at 9:00am as we will need to leave on time). The drive will explore some of the better (non-straight/flat) roads of NE Indiana. *
*
11:30am- the remainder of the day will be held at Artisans Rods and Classics (MAP: 815 Lawrence Drive, Fort Wayne 46804) Dress for today is: COMFORTABLE! * Jeans/t-shirts, shorts, etc…
12:00pm- Afternoon Drive
1:30pm- Race Tech Session. *
2:30pm- Paint Tech Session. Mike Pranger & Automotive Color *
3:30pm- Detailing Tech Session. Mike Cardenas - SweetCars
4:00pm- Music/DJ *
5:00pm- Evening party begins with Hog Roast style dinner, cash bar.

Gang,

We are trying to pull off something special this year at Ferraris and Friends. Our Featured vehicle is the GM Futurliner. In 1953 the Futurliner toured the US promoting the brand new Corvette. Our goal is to have 1 example of every Corvette from 1953-2013 alongside some very lovely Ferraris. We are almost there! If you know of anyone with a nice Vette who is interested in being a part of this, please let them know. We are in search of the following years:
74, 76, 77, 79, 80, 85, 87, 89, 90, 91, 92, 94, 97, 99.

If we can fill this gap, this will be only the 2nd time in history that this feat has been accomplished.

I missed Friday night...I was able to attend Saturday nights event.

Saturday was a great event as expected, lots of Ferraris, Lambos, Alfas and a McLaren. Good food good music... Great job Jim and Pete!

the GM Futurliner was super cool... super job!

 

I wanted to go to this just to see the Futurliner but my car was not fit to travel.

 

Too busy to get down myself Otherwise, I would have called you.
