in 25 years Ferraris will be so advanced that the today's Enzo will be old news. Remember that 308's were once the most advanced Ferrari made. in 1977 only millionaires and movie stars could afford 308's. The rest of us poor people has to settle for Dinos and Daytonas and 330's back in 1978. People would taunt me - when are you going to buy a 308 and get rid of your front engined Daytona???? It looks like a chevy Monza....... HA!
I don't know. With new corporate average fuel economy standards set at 54.5mpg, the Ferraris of 25 years from now may have trouble keeping up with the Ferraris of today. Or, do small volume manufacturers escape those rules?
maybe electric and fast, have a noise generator to simulate a piston motor. I just wonder what Formula 1 will be like in 30 years.

Remember, the Saratoga sold new for $1,800 back in 1978, plus shipping of $100 -so $1,900 total in 1978 dollars. If you took the inflation into account, today it would have to sell for $5,000 to be the equivelant of $1,900 in 1978 dollars. So its actually lost value and is selling for less than the 1978 price. Someday they will sell for 10K. Just watch!
But $3,700 is about $1,200 in 1979 dollars. So it sold for $600 less than the original value. Inflation is a silent thief, you never realize you were robbed - Ronald Reagan 1976
Ok, who's the lucky winner? Congrats Whoever. Better protect that investment with a nice thick and padded pouch.
Good day All, If you look at the bidding it seems very odd... only two bidders and the "b**r" seems to be highly active and repeatedly bid even in the early stages... To me this looks like an abnormal bid pattern and I have seen similar patterns on other Ebay auctions that were suspect. I am not saying that this is what happened here, but certainly looks odd... I would be curious if the item is relisted with a comment like "the previous winner backed out, etc". Cheers, Sam Image Unavailable, Please Login
I am the seller of the Saratoga top. It was a fair auction indicating the "market price" for the top. There were basically 2 bidders, one from France, one from the USA (who won). However there were over 800 people watching the item and many emails and questions until the price started up. Item has been paid for via Paypal. Shipping it out later today. I will ask the winner if he wants to place any comment on this board or identify himself. Believe he may have a ID on Ferrarichat. Thanks to all who showed interest.
I have noticed the preload of a max bid generates a pattern like that...it looks like they are bidding against themselves, but it's not the case. Confusing to me also. If you have an eBay Login you can play with the "Hide" and Show" automatic bid buttons, on the recap, to see what I mean......
It seems crazy but 1 paid $1K for a few sheets of paper for my car ( authentic FIA homologate certificate) It is a open market but I found leting all know about f related things online raises the price about double! I even bid against a good friend on something, we now agreed to tell each other if we were bidding on a ferrari item, as it gets crazy! I would have paid $4K if I had wanted it and think that is about the new price for this rare item.... I wish I had a GTS so I could have one. I also like the painted top! Rob
I spoke to Koji about a year ago as I was looking for another spare top to color code.Nice and friendly guy. The picture of the black 328 with the carbon roof was actually his car.He has sold it and it sold again. He told me that the Carbon roof would cost around the $3000 mark but he could make a Fibreglass one for around $2000 from memory..Although he lives in Sydney, the tops are made in Japan. They dont come with any pins or latches or any foam moulding or side rail gutter rubber.
Robert, I have a Saratoga top and an extra painted body color targa top for sale cheap, only $35,000 But it comes with a 308 QV
