I am looking for an original sample of Blu Tahiti to find a match for. Any suggestions where I can find one?

I found the PPG code online and had a corresponding sample painted on a card but it looks too dark and has a greenish tint. The irony is that I have never seen that blue in person so I have no idea if it is correct or not.

I also tried contacting a bodyshop in the locale of the factory but have yet to get a response.

I am not aware of anyone with a car that shade of blue from the factory (and I doubt they would send me a part to find a matching blue).

A few places sell OEM Lamborghini paint sample books online but none of those vendors sell a book which includes Blu Tahiti.

Has anyone any experience with the Classiche department of the factory offering help in this regard?

Ask Raymond to put you in touch with Erik who has an LP500S in ORIGINAL Blu Tahiti.

Perhaps a match can be arranged.

There is a very nice & restored Blu Tahiti Jarama GTS in the museum factory...

I'm sure if you ask the museum staff they should have a complete file for each of the cars displayed inside museo !

Hey, there is a vintage spare parts department there (that is what I meant). You mean I cannot send my CT to the factory with a cheque and ask them to tell me what it is?

Thanks for the tips. I had Raymond's email address some time ago when I bought an ignition from him. I do end up in CH on occasion, maybe we can work something out. Again, maybe I can pay Gary B to paint a small sample. My painter is slow but meticulous. He just needs the right paint.

I have always found Tahiti Blu to quite an interesting colour in that its apparent shade can vary significantly depending upon the lighting both in photos and in real life.

Look at Jarama and Espada brochures, the Jarama S at the Museo ( as Olivier mentioned ) and Joe's CT shots on thread http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=386231 yesterday. Also, the same applies to that Parisien S ( with the non-standard engine ? ). They can all look different.

Anyhow, just to prove my little point, here's a shot of my 10256 and a friend's 10268 taken in 2006.

One of these is Tahiti Blu, while the other is a Ferrai colour ! Which is which ?

The Sackey photo is the one my LP5000S aspires to. I saw a 575M a month ago in that Ferrari version of the blue. I never knew that was an original shade. What is it called? The left car in that photo is quite vivid, I like it better. I am dropping by the factory next week and hope to see that Jarama in person.

Gary B did write me back and offer to provide an authentic sample. Great guy. He uses urethane, we have to use water based paint. He can sell me the urethane, but the shipping cost from him to me will be mad. We shall see.
