No it was not a Mule. It was a VP (VP = process verification phase), the body was almost definitive therefore the carcover camouflage. I know that picture very well ... .... That F150 prototype that we see in various internet pictures have been assembled few months before the definitive style have been frozen.
There is no way the car will only weigh 1,100KG that would make the car good deal lighter than the 599XX evo and FXX evo. In fact, that would mean that the new car would weigh over 400lbs less than the 599XX evo. That won't happen. When weighed by end users and magazines the Enzo weighed considerable more than the stated weight of 1,365KG. The engine will not be 7.3L, it will not be that big. If the new car only produced 850 horse power from 7.3L that would be a step backwards from the 458. The 458 produces 125 horsepower per liter. The new car will have a higher specific output. The car will not be as light as an FXX. The FXX evo does not do 400KPH. Having ridden in both a 599xx evo, and FXX evo and having spoken with the guys behind the xx projects the top speed of the car is under 230mph. I've said before and I'll say it again those expecting a Veyron beater will be disappointed.
No one really cares about top speed anymore just add turbos and any fool can do it lol... i was told that he fxx can be geared for 400 but its not important... Anyway based on your info here unless there is something very special going on with the car we don't know about yet... its going to be eaten alive by the P1 ... do Ferrari really want to be hand there asses by Mclaren again on there own turf
Exactly. Ferrari always understate the weight of their cars. The stated curb weight of the Enzo is stated as 1,365KG, when in reality the curb weight is 3,265lbs/1,480KG. Anyways do not expect the new car to weigh under 3,000lbs, however we will see a total horse power figure that will make the new car's power to weight ratio much better than the Enzo's.
Even earlier ones looked like 348/355 hybrids. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That sounds more like what I've been told... Just seem to me from what you said that they had missed the mark but all good.... At the end of the day the Enzo numbers are now meaningless people will be comparing this to the current and fore coming Hypercar range... People don't want an Enzo Evo they want something new and mind blowing almost like the F40 was when it came out... It's looking like we have that... I guess I get very emotional when I feel a hint it won't Thanks for sharing your information it's really great... Question for you if your able... is the other version more of a FXX/XX track car... or are both versions road legal
They probably polished it out afterwards to sell it at an auction. I seem to remember it in an episode of Fifth Gear
"The new 6.3-liter V12 is reputed to develop more than 900 hp and features multi-spark mixture ignition and continuously variable-length inlet tracts to maximize power and torque." http://www.insideline.com/ferrari/ferrari-to-unveil-enzo-successor-at-2013-detroit-auto-show.html
I agree with you. Geared properly and with the wings taken off, the FXX can exceed 400 kph. I am sure that the new Enzo will want to surpass the 370 kph that the Enzo has recorded by a good margin, hence upwards of 400 does seem plausible. On the other hand, this car is going to be so much more than just a top speed machine. As for the P1, when Rory Byrne was asked, he was assured that the new Enzo had nothing to fear!
Don't expect it to go past 375 manuf claim...IMO anything over 330 is pretty useless. Unless you have access to Nardo
Some of those proposals were very interesting. For me I prefer this one than the final looking of the Enzo: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=35295&stc=1&d=1082759548 I think that is reminisncent to the old sport prototypes like the 330 P4. BTW, very similar to the P4/5 on that drawing.
