22k miles and its 34k to you.
Just another GRAY MARKET phony USA spec car from the Sacky library.
I would love to here the SPIN you would put on the 82 Silver car if you owned it and was trying to make $$$$ from it. It seems you talk down almost every Countach that comes up unless you owned it, touched it or made money from it. You can't get into every Countach owners pocket Joe. You are obsessed with degrading the history of this guys car. You can't have them all joe.

1121058 was a 1979 build USA EPA legal car as built by the FACTORY for Sheldon Brooks.

Not a gray market car nor one from my library.

This is a well-known car, and its USA EPA-legal FACTORY build is described in the May 1980 issue of Motor Trend (below).

Now I know for sure that you are either kidding or have some research to do.

1121058 does prove that the silver 1982 car is not the first EPA-legal car as you erroneously assert. You are simply CLAIMING that it was the first whilst offering no proof. On the other hand, I have PROVEN that its not, and have offered proof. There is a fundamental difference there that you are failing to grasp. Just repeating something does not make it so.

My assertions are only about historical accuracy, not disparaging the silver car at all. At the right price I would buy that car and convert it back to carbs. I am plenty enthusiastic about many cars that I have no past or present affiliation with (& that fact is documented all over this thread), so my assertions aren't about commissionable interest either. They are simply about historical accuracy, that's all.

We agree on this, and I feel that way even more so if the mods to make it EPA-legal were post-production privateer company mods. If we had some documentation that it was the first factory-built USA-legal car, maybe that might make the car slightly more interesting or desirable. But only slightly.

Joe, do you have any problems "issues" with the current owner of this car ?
And is Casey aware that your posting pictures of his car on this forum "on private property" while it is being worked on ?

No issues at all, never been in contact with the man, and pics of the car being worked on are all over the internet in the public domain - sent to me, as a matter of fact.

I think the owner is emphasizing it's importance as a "prototype", not as a "first legal car".

I think its fair to say the car is a prototype - for that specific fuel-injection system, making it the prototype fuel-injected Countach.

    But not a factory prototype.

As for whether this car was the first USA legal Countach, that assertion is already squarely dis-proven in this thread.

Joe, since you are obviously such a knowledgeably and accomplished Lamborghini aficionado I just went to your web site for the first time to look at what I assumed would be a collection of the finest Countach's listed for sale in the world and yet I could not find a single car listed in inventory ?

Do you actually own any cars joe ???? Or are you a "BROKER" making a living off of other peoples money ?

Here is what I do, simply explained:
    http://joesackey.com/to-acquire-or-sell/

I don't operate as a store-front. My choice. I facilitate the sale & purchase of special cars privately & discreetly, and generally speaking by the time I share a car I have available with my group of clients, it is spoken for. No need for advertising, and both sellers & buyers ask me to keep it that way: http://joesackey.com/testimonials/

Yes, like many businesses across the world, I perform a service, and get paid. Very simple. It seems to work pretty well if I may humbly say so myself: http://joesackey.com/sold/

And yes, I own quite a few cars, I just don't kiss-and-tell. And I don't feel the need to share what's in my bank account either. Once in a while I will sell one of my own cars, but these days that's rare.

I agree with this also. This FI setup does make the car interesting, but I'm not sure about more valuable. From what I understand, Lamborghini was about to give up on selling cars in the U.S. due to ever tightening regulations, and this car helped convince them otherwise. In the end, its up to whomever is buying the car whether or not this adds to its desirability.
I'd carb it & hang the FI system on the garage wall ;)
