Nice! I like that Louts! Speaking of Teslas.........I saw one tonight! White Tesla Model S in Skokie, near the charging station. California (probably press) plates.
great spots! That Lotus looks suprisingly good in tiger wrap! Extremely jealous! Congrats, got pics of my first new M5 tonight! (black) parked next to a blue X5M in Barrington!
black SUV backing into my Viper and pushing it backwards several inches while it was parked on Rush St fortunately it looks like it was just paint damage.
I was walking back to the car, thought "wow that SUV is really close", then flipped out when I realized what was happening Fortunately it was mostly her tire pressing against the front left side of the car. If the car hadn't been rolling backwards I'm sure it would have been crushed It turned out to be a nice older lady though and she said she would pay for it and gave her number. I hate to think what would have happened if it were a younger person and I hadn't witnessed it.
Did you file a report? Unfortunately, even older people balk at paying the bill once they've left. Many times, the first thing they do is call someone who plants doubts and bad ideas in their heads later. All it takes is her saying you hit her or you parked into her space and the claim will get real complicated. Hopefully all goes well, but in my line of work I've seen it go bad too many times to not be paranoid. People do strange things to avoid blame/payment in crashes.
^ what he said. You can never be too careful. Hopefully the process will go smoothly and it'll be one of many stories in the cars life
I was once sitting on my motorcycle waiting for the light to change, third in line, it was on a street where cars were parked facing angled in, this little old lady started to back out of the stall that was to my immediate right, I saw here white lights and assumed she'd wait for traffic to clear, she kept coming, coming, coming.. I laid on my horn... Kept coming.. I had to jump off my bike as her bumper pushed me over and I watched in horror as she just rolled over it until both her tires were ontop of it. She too said she'd pay for the damage, gave me her number, very apologetic... One day a very intimidating, 6'3 bald headed black man came to my work, this was the messenger that was supposed to be bringing me my check, he came with no check but a warning that If I didn't stop calling this poor and innocent nun, yes nun, he would be paying me, with a visit after my shift was over. I called her again, and threatened her with police involvement, I eventually got my check.
Badges2 is right, you can never go on the word of these people, they will promise everything to get out from such situations. Once you let them go, without getting all their personal info, insurance, etc, you are at their mercy. If they refuse to provide all the info you need, you have to call the cops.
