It began over two years ago with a trip to LA. I wanted to show my girlfriend the Spadena House in Beverly Hills -- she stopped the car when she saw the black California parked nearby: "What is THAT! That is the most beautiful thing I've ever SEEN!".

Then came the celebratory trip, when we rented one for a weekend, our hands shaking as we flew down Laurel Canyon with giant grins on our faces -- after which, even a year later, any car I test drove still felt, "Well, it's not a Ferrari."

Then the insane decision to actually buy one -- supported by the intuitive, intelligent, beautiful woman who had just agreed to be my wife (provided she gets to drive as well).

    Then the waiting.

    "Should be delivered in August."

"Engine recall, looks like maybe completed in mid-October."

"10RED! Your car has shipped early!"

"It's arrived, but the markets are closed for today, the wires should go through tomorrow morning..."

And now: finally, my very own sleek, understated, elegant Nero/Nero california, outside my dealer today,

(elec daytonas, magna, carbon driving zone, camera & sensors, and no, with the tank traps around my place, no 20" wheels).

    Congratulations on the purchase!
Test drove the 2012 with Handling Speciale package (Giallo Tristrato) and it's a truly amazing driving pleasure. Can't get enough

I could not afford a new Cali30 so I went on a diet and lost 30kg, the car is now awesome!
