    amen +1!

interestingly, despite the two teams having 58 WS appearances between them, they've only faced each other 5 times...1926, 1928, 1942, 1943, and 1964.

    so I'd say it's overdue :)

EDIT: and the Cardinals have the advantage, 3-2 :D

If that happens, I'm on the Cards side. I hate the Yankees.

I'm rooting for the Tigers since my Rangers are gone, so a 2006 rematch would be great.

With the teams left in contention, this is probably MLB's dream matchup...LETS GO CARDINALS!

Well, either that or Reds & A's to bring the early '70's dominators back. Naaaaaaaaaaah.

    Bronx Bombers vs. Redbirds FTW!

That would be a series to see, but nobody would watch it, :)

In the meantime, I'm looking forward to the possibility of a Cardinals Yankees series, the two most decorated teams in MLB history, it'd be fun to watch the birds on the bat kick some pinstripe ass, :)

Cards have more World Series titles than any other Nat'l League team.

BTW the Nat League still plays real baseball with no DH. having to have the pitcher bat changes the whole strategy of the game.

    Go Cards!

:). DH rule sucks, IMO. 11 titles, 18 WS appearances, both NL records, iirc.

Great stuff on bleacherreport today about the "Keys to the Game" for the Cards vs. Giants.

I'm currently at 40,000 feet somewhere over New Mexico, so I **pray** everything is smooth in Atlanta this afternoon and I get back home before the 2nd inning is complete.

I was just in the Atlanta airport a few weeks back, one thing I've learned is that nothing ever goes smoothly there, :D

    T - 4 hours 48 minutes!

So San Francisco and Detroit will be watching the World Series....and that's about it. Fox's worst nightmare come true :)

Be on the lookout for "lowest rates World Series ever" news stories to come out starting Thursday.

I'm, in a sad kind of way, ready for a winter break. At least for the moment, I'm wiped out from the season. I pulled the MLB widget from my phone Home Screen, and am ready to chill until perhaps February.

Tigers fans (and Red Wings fans) are among Michigan's chief exports. Additionally, nearly 11,000,000 people here will be tuning in from Michigan alone :p

The no. 1 cable station in MI is FSN which is where the Redwings and Tigers action is :) I think it will be alright... and I know everybody is on edge weather or not somebody will steal a base so they can finally try a Doritos Taco from Taco Bell LOL
