    Dave,

Speaking of the cones in front of the salon, as Robert Frost put it, “good fences make good neighbors.” It’s a small thing for us to respect the wishes/needs of the salon owners. As much as we may have the impression that the early morning at Katie’s is solely for us car guys, the truth remains that we are guests on someone else’s property. As guests, we need to show respect and demonstrate responsible and mature behavior. When this gathering started a short while back, most everybody from the car crowd was gone prior to 9:00 AM, or very shortly thereafter, leaving no major conflicts with the other merchants. Now it seems, with the popularity of the event – which is a good thing, and supremely enjoyable -- more people are coming and hanging out longer. We need to be aware of the burden, both real and perceived, that this may make on the other merchants and customers, and try to be more accommodating.

Being “good neighbors” will allow us to continue the event. Being bad neighbors will almost assure that pressure will brought to bear on us to stop. Remember that just around the time that we are leaving, is when the rest of the local world are getting out and about on their Saturday activities – which for the most part are not related to our cars. It is us that can be looked at as an inconvenience. Loud, fast accelerations out of the parking lot are looked upon by others as annoying and unsafe, and will attract unwanted attention from the police. It is possible that in the wake of this weekend’s Ferrari crash on the Beltway –while not tied directly to our gathering – that we may be seeing vastly more strict enforcement of speed limits, and scrutiny of spirited driving styles by police.

The gathering at Katie’s is truly wonderful. Mike (Katie’s owner) has put considerable time and effort into making the arrangements for us to meet, and for the event to grow, while keeping peace with his neighbors. Let’s help him, and not bring further work, burdens and complaints down on him. He deserves the best from us as a sign of our appreciation. Enjoy the mornings, enjoy the cars and enjoy each other. Make way for others to enjoy their day as well.

Agreed—I hope nothing happens to this event due to poor judgment by a few people, most drivers/riders are careful and considerate but lately I’ve seen at least one car or bike peal out every time—not a good idea …

Well said, and it would be in our best interest to spread this word to other marque owners as well.

Nice looking car....If this is a replica/kit I'd love for the owner/builder to get in touch with me. Looking to buy or build one of these myself.

It's an early CalSpyder (the car that was used in Ferris Bueller) The early car had vent windows (windshield and side windows from a Fiat I believe) like the car in your photos. As someone else pointed out, the tail lights are MG. The shifter knob is Mustang.

The later cars look even better. I'd own one in a heartbeat, but sans emblems of course.

How late in the year does this stay well attended? I'm working on trying to get either a Bugatti Grand Sport or our new Vitesse out to it, but it probably won't be for a month or two.

The only reasons for no Cars & Coffee are:

    1.) It's actively raining.
2.) There's significant snow on the ground.

Note that, if the previous week was rained or snowed out, it's less likely that either rain or snow will keep everyone away.

In looking at my pictures from Katie's this year, I only see 'washouts' about 4 times, in the period of 1/1 thru the end of April.

That shows you what a mild winter we had, but car folks get 'cabin fever' after missing their Cars & Coffee!

    Thanks guys.

I'll do what I can, I brought it up in a meeting yesterday and it's looking good for bringing a Vitesse, we'll be getting a new one soon. :D

Let me know - we have several people there very early each Saturday - I'm sure we could reserve a space or two for any Bugatti that would show up!

Arrived at 7 am and main lot and at least one of side lots completely full. Mix of cars different, many more vettes and muscle cars, as well as imports. By about 7:30 cars were driving through lots, just looking for space to park. At least for me, nice to visit once in a while, but not on a regular basis, as in prior years.

Great photos, thanks. But, these are not from Saturday, November 10th? I don't recall seeing most of these cars, at least until about 8am. Wish they were there, much more interesting and diverse cars than I saw.

Rob, the album is a collection of many dates. If you click on any photo, it tells you the date taken. Only the last 8 are from Nov 10.

I apologize for my link laziness! The last 9 are from this weekend (the Speedster to the Ghibli).

Thanks, didn't realize it was that simple. But, really enjoyed the photos and likely will encourage me to visit again, hoping to see more of the cars that did not show up last week.

Maybe with the GT3 this Saturday, needs to stretch a bit before I put it away for the winter.

I apologize for that confusion. Here is an update from last weekend. There was a lot of great and obscure stuff (a Pinzgauer!). The last 8 pics are from Saturday.
