need a little help from socal folks (specifically in OC)

here's the story.
recently acquired a F360 Stradale (3 months ago). Had PPI done by a local independent mechanic (all clear). Brother took it to OC for a few months. He drove it 4-5 times the past 3 months (he thought he likes Ferrari but turns out that he doesn't - but that's for another thread). Three weeks ago he called to said the clutch is probably worn b/c after driving it for a while the car seems to lose power.
then this evening he called and said "it's not the clutch, it's the engine. I took it out and right away the car doesn't have the power it should". He drove it gingerly home

so here are my options

1. flat bed the car back to Norcal and have someone up here look at it. I know a couple of reliable shops (by reputation).

2. find a shop down in Socal and have it looked (and possibly fixed at there). Problem is I don't know anyone there.

3. ???

can I have some suggestions of mech shops and/or transport company or some suggestions.

Where in OC are you? Does it have check engine lights on?
I can probably swing by with a OBD2 reader if your around San Clemente.. I doubt its your engine.

I like to use Raging Bull in Newport Beach or Cavallos in Carlsbad.

I'd call Allan Woodard the Service Manager at FoNB. He's a straight shooter and will be able to give you an idea of what the problem is.

Take it to a dealer. No BS and you'll get it done right!!!! Alan is great and thats who I take all my cars to. Don't waste your time trying to save a few bucks when you deal with these cars!

a little update. First, a big big thank you to Mickey.

Fortunately the problem turned out to be something minor.

AlohaMickey was very generous to take time to come diagnose and fix the problem. I don't quite understand it but the ecu was reset and the engine power problem is now fixed. Car is running well again.

If I can return the favor let me know anytime.

a little update:
so the car intermittently loses power.
AlohaMickey suggested turning the switch in the front trunk (the master electrical switch on the passenger side). This does the trick but occasionally the car loses power still.
Fearing something serious I took it to a local mechanic. As Murphy's law dictate, the car runs beautifully when he tested it. I asked him to keep it, hoping the problem would surface. He kept it for 2 weeks before it popped up again - that was a long two weeks, I was going through withdrawal. I had the shakes and was sweating!!!!
anyhoo, the mechanic couldn't find the problem for the longest time. He searched high and low. Finally talked to his friend and found the problem. The air filter box as a sticker/label. This has loosen and intermittently covers the intake. When this happens the air sensor detects a problem and shuts down one side of the cylinder banks, effectively making the car a 4 cylinder (actually slightly less b/c it has to drag the other "dead" cylinders).
he removed the sticker and problem never resurfaced again.

... just in case anyone has a similar problem to mine, check the air filter box for a loose sticker/label....

I have never ever seen any sticker or label fitted to any part of the airbox or inlet tract, and I fail to see how this could cause the shutting down off one bank. What codes were stored?

So was the sticker directly in front of the MAF sensor?

 

don't know where the sticker was (I can't even tell you where the air filter is - I can tell on my other cars but Ferrari engines are weird). Mechanic said that sticker is placed there by Ferrari and over time it peeled off.
The peeled sticker flutters and covers the air intake and the computer shuts down one side of the cylinder bank.
