    Good morning,
My name is Art and I'm the new owner of Bora #932. As you can surmise from the photos below it's a '75 US spec car (and I will be keeping the US bumpers, thank you). It comes to me from Ivan. I bought it from him about two months ago "with issues" but I now have it pretty much sorted out except for 1/4" play in the front driver's side wheel (inner tie rod link) and the installation of a new (higher flow) Facit fuel pump.

It's a pleasure to drive it on the open road, something it hasn't seen since before 1990. It's solid, strong and comfortable. It feels very neutral although I've yet to explore the edges of it's envelope. Via my interest in classics I'm acquainted with another local '75 Bora owner. We got together yesterday morning to put some mileage on our Bora's and "compare notes" before the fall deepens here in upstate NY. We share an enthusiasm for driving and enjoy a strong classic car community in our area - with Saratoga Springs Auto Museum, Hemmings, Dave Burnham Citroen and other excellent resources less than an hour's drive. I'm also aware that Bob Altieri in CT isn't beyond a daytrip.

I've lurked on this site for a year or so, asked a few questions and found this Board to be as active as any Maserati site. Anyway - here are some pics for your viewing pleasure and I hope to consistently post more as I pile on the miles!

My #932 is the dark one, Peter's yellow Bora is #904.

Cheers all! Enjoy a great fall, and may all your winter projects be finished by spring!

Congratulations. There is a Bora picture thread you might want to participate in.

Please tell me that it isn't going to Norway?

    She's a beauty!

The deep blue, almost black, really works well with this particular model.

Good to hear you're out driving and using the car, hope you get a few more miles out of the season before the snow (and salt) make their appearance.

Looking forward to seeing and hearing more.

Welcome! And congratulations to your beautiful Bora. It is a pleasure to know that another one of those wonderful old Maseratis is out of the garage and back on the road. Keep it there and enjoy ever minute.
    Best, Otto

Yes, it's only two Boras here in Norway why should US have so many?

Ivan had two boras for sale a few months back, and the dark one was one of them. The other one is now in Norway and that owner imported and sorted out Khamsin #US1000 before passing it on to René.

    Great pictures!

    Kind regards
    Marius

Thanks all! I've noticed quite an active group of Norwegians and Swede's here, and in the MIE calendar photos!

LOL, Bob - If I have my way Bora #932 will indeed get shipped to Norway someday... but it will only be to "show the flag" (or bumpers ;-) ) for a summer and then return to these US shores afterwards.

Gabriel - Even though mine will stay here, you ought to be seeing a red '73 Bora added to the Norwegian stable. Ivan sold one to a Norwegian the same time I bought #932. It's a small world and I assume its new owner will show it on this Board soon. Maybe?

My permanent home remains on this side of the Atlantic, although we have strong family ties and property in Norway. This summer we drove a rental from the Hvaler Islands in the southeast to the Vega Islands, about half way up - 2,200km. Fantastic country, fantastic people, fantastic prices, and fantastic roads!

    Cheers,
    Mvh,
    -Art

You're certainly right about the prices!

I went the other way - originally from Sunny & Warm (tm) L.A., California and ended up in Norway.

From west coast to west coast ;-)

    Small world...

So many vintage exotic Italian cars have left the US in the last 10 years. Even the ones built specifically for this market. Apparently a lot of Khamsins have left.

    Hi Art,
    Your car looks fantastic!

Would be great to see the -73 Bora that has made its way over here! I trust the owner will bring the car to to one of our gatherings soon, if not this year, then the next :)

    Price x exchange rate ...

Not much you can do with the exchange rate, but price levels reflect a relative lack of appreciation in the US for many classic Maseratis.

The color combo of your #932 is fantastic! I had a similar Bora for sale 2 years ago and I much liked that tan leather in contrast to the black color and alloy roof.

Yes Boras, Khamsins and certainly Meraks have never been terribly coveted here.

But even Ghiblis, 3500s and Mistrals have been leaving.

Sadly it's a very weak dollar.

Glad to see the black Bora finally back on the road!

As Art mentioned, this car had some "issues" and needed an enthusiast that would take the time and effort to sort things out.

Congratulations ... car looks great! Black and cream is a very good color combination on the Bora.

    Thanks all,

Yes, the color combination is great. The paint actually has some brown in it, along with a slight metallic.. it's hard to tell from certain photos, but here's one taken at Dave Burnham's Citroen in which I think the brown shows...

I haven't seen any Merak's in our area, but there is at least one Khamsin, a couple Ghibli's, a rare 1950's race car converted to a roadworthy roadster, plus the Saratoga Auto Museum has a Maserati Indy car...

The shakedown cruises have continued with 180 miles added this past week - plenty of photos and video too. Hmmm... I wonder where I'll go today?
