That's my favorite comment, as well - you beat me to posting it here. :)

Only problem is, we'd have to have the marque end in "i" to make it sound more Italian, and I don't know if a: "Glickenhausi" adaptation really works.

    :D

I do wonder if some of us will be able to drive a Glickenhaus in the future... Rob would have to add a new subforum. :)

Just to make sure I've got it on record: side strakes, Jim. Find a way to incorporate some side strakes. ;) :D

    All the best,
    Andrew.

How great to still have your dad. Wish mine was still around every day.

Looks like you have got the work thing and the hobby thing down pat. Congratulations!

And thanks for your contributions to the world of Ferrari and Fchat. If you are in Aspen I would like to buy you an adult beverage.

Mmmm.....I suspect that the last time Ferrari "really pissed off an extremely competent, wealthy gearhead" (prior to this apparent time), was not the the early 60's with Lamborghini!

In business, throughout his time, Enzo Ferrari took great pleasure in not Kowtowing to anyone, regardless of wealth, competence or status (including, some would say, the Pope!).

There were those he respected, but he would never bow and scrape to them.

This is a "tradition" in the company that appears to apply to this day (albeit to a much lesser extent).

This is in part, why they don't allow their trademarks to appear on certain vehicles (regardless of any Maranello origins), and it's why certain people feel the need to attempt legal action against the company.

Some owners see it as an unacceptable arrogance (that will result in the collapse of the company apparently!), whilst other see it as merely being the way Ferrari are and always have been.

Is it right? or is it wrong? - As I see it, it's up to Ferrari how they run their business and nobody else, after all - they've been doing it for a fair old few years now and they don't seem to have too many problems keeping the company going!

If you don't like how they do business then the answer's simple and has been around for decades - Like Ferruccio Lamborghini, don't buy their products!

and go out and built your own.

Not too sure why the comparison is made. Ferrari is still far superior in every imaginable way, especially on the track, to anything Lamborghini have done.

It's sad that the story is presented as a big conflict between Jim and Ferrari. That shouldn't be the fundamental to the story. The story of a wealthy carenthusiast building his own racecar and raceteam and go out and compete at the Nurburgring, is far more than just that. The conflict, if there even is any, is not that interesting. At least not to Ferrari.

Jim, your love for cars and your story is absolutely inspiring. Thank you for sharing. I love cars so insanely much and love to see people pour their passion into stuff like this. I think it's really awesome that you and your son get to share that and it looks like you've all had a blast in the process.

Yes, nice shots of the P 4/5 on the road.

I noticed a few new car details in the video:
    - how the door handle is hidden vertically inside the back of the side air scoop; and
    - the cool v-shaped light strips that form the front turn signals.

It really doesn't make a lot of sense for the P 4/5 to be designated a Ferrari but the P 4/5 C not to be.
But, like Cinderella, sometimes the poor step-sister ends up shining the brightest. :)
