there is a part I, too:

If this is the original color this M12 should be either chassis 002 (1996 Detroit show car owned by an F-chatter) or 012 (which always comes alongside chassis 001, the flag car) 001 and 012 have been located in Ohio for many years.

Is it possible to download the fb videos?

Here is M12, chassis 005 on the dyno:

Since high horsepower twin turbo mods seem to be popular now days, I wonder what a max effort Vector mill would be capable of? Is it true that the block can go up to 572 cubic inches? Over 2000 hp than? Just for fun speculation :)

The yellow chassis 012 had been tuned ot 900hp when it was with the Florida owner.
The drivetrain could not handle that much power though.
So the next owner brought it back to original.

Makes me wonder how long the drivetrains last in these TT Gallardos etc.
Is Jerry still working on a new car? Know what he plans on using for transaxle?

By "Original" What do you mean, Jurgen? I've seen the pictures, and much is far from original. In Brian Zuk's video, it appears to not be making any boost. The problems I've heard in this car were primarily in the engine re-management, and aftermarket components. For example, the W8 has a factory boost controller. It was ripped out, cut into the Ostrich leather to put in a chincy aftermarket piece. The drivetrain isn't what failed the car from everything I've read, seen, and had conversations about.

Well, not all was put back to original.
But the engine has now the original power output back from the previous 900+ hp.

What failed was the big 2 inch wide drive chain in the transmission. It could not handle the power and was replaced.

BTW, the current owner is very happy with the car and enjoying it in Spain.

I don't believe the restoration had any factory specs when restoring it. I'm glad the owner is enjoying it though. I honestly don't think the power was the issue; as anybody can crank up the boost on any factory car.

    Hi everybody.
I'm the owner of the YellowW8. I'm glad to find a place where to share our thinkings.
I bought the car a year ago thanks to Jurgen, was working fine, but many thinks weren't repaired as the car got older.
During this year I've been restoring and fixing things, and also got in touch with the guys who tuned the car in Florida.
The fact is that I've still got to learn many facts of the car, I hope that you could help me.
For those interested in power, as far as I know the engine block was widely used on dragster competition, some tuners got over 2000 hp from them. As I have been told my car had undergone an engine tune up consisting on new forged pistons, forged con rods, race camshafts, bigger exhaust. Car was dyno tested, giving 800 hp on 95 octame and 1000 hp on 110/120 octane+metanol mix. In my humble opinion that is nonsense for a car designed on the late seventies, the transmission chain, the lightened flywheel, the automatic discs, and even the bolts that connect transmission axes to the wheels can't cope with that power.

Now I'm trying to fix the electronically operated boost control, as the nks control valve gots corroded and stucks the boost in the last desired position before corroding. As far as I know every vector has this problem.
Well, I hope we could find together some of the tons of answers I need.
    Regards to everyone.

Awesome! Nice to hear from the owner of this car. I don't think the TH425 was ever designed to handle the amount of power the Vector engine is capable of producing.Vector and B&M did a lot to improve it however. I believe that the 625 rating gives the appropriate safety factor, but more power starts pushing things. Keep in mind that back then, 300hp was considered a lot! I would perhaps get in touch with B&M and perhaps Kurt who is very knowledgeable about these cars.
Maybe some modern tech & materials can strengthen the transmission

    No, it did not.
There was only one bid at less than 500k, no sale.
Reserve price was at 600k or 800k, don´t remember.
This shows you that the car was not actually for sale.

with buyers premium/sellers cost... if it bid near 500k, that quickly becomes near 580 spent. But that is semantics. Especially since it didn't meet reserve.
